Sorry I have not got my cards to hand but recently purchased the Falcon, can the shield upgrade cards be used on any ship or only those with shields already?

A modification can be used on any ship so you could use this card to give a ship an extra shield, or a ship that has no shields a shield.

Also note that each ship can only have 1 modification, so no stacking shield upgrades or combining with other modifications.
