Proximity Mines and Krassis Trellix

By keiichiro, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Does Krassis Trelix's pilot ability to reroll an attack die with a secondary weapon apply to the Proximity Mines? I'd like to think yes, since it is a secondary weapon…

Proximity Mines are secondary weapons, but you don't make an attack with them.

No, because you don't throw the dice, they be throw by the owner of the ship that pass the mine, so it's totally independent of the ability of your ship, greettings.

Bombs (of any type) are not secondary weapons. Firespray rules insert, Page 2, second section (Bombs), last sentence. To quote it, "Bomb Upgrade cards are not secondary weapons"

My mistake! (My Firesprays are locked up in the local UPS center until Monday morning.)

…so the answer to the OP's question is that they're not secondary weapons and you don't attack with them.

I think is more than an obstacle, than a weapon, that's why is the ship that pass over the mine that throw the dice, of the ships on range 1 that suffer the damage, so isn't a secondary or primary weapon, greettings.

Hah! I corrected Vorpal Sword! I can now officially claim that my life is justified!! ;)

@Kaxel: It's not an obstacle, or a secondary weapon, It's a unique and new category. I think it's better to avoid getting it mixed up with anythign else.

Ok, I totally agre that it could be in a new category, but if you want to simplify things I put in the category of obtacle, but only to simplify, greettings.

This may be simpler, but it's also very wrong.

If bombs are obstables, then all the rules for obstacles would apply. You'd take a die of damage for flying over them, lose your action, and they'd obstruct shots. None of these are true. Beyond being a piece of cardboard on the table, bombs really share nothing at all in common with obstacles.

Simplification is all well and good, but it still needs to be correct.

Bombs are not obstacles, according to FAQ/Errata. Bombs are just... bombs.
