This is a bit theory wars, but I set up various squads, both imperial and alliance last night and flew the first 3 turns aginst each squad with this list

Krassis with Weapons Engineer, Assault Missiles, HLC

Bounty Hunter, Weapons Engineer, Assault Missiles, HLC

The assault missiles played havoc with the enemy. Over 16 different first 3 turn runs, I never failed to not get one hit with each missile, which put out splash damage to all the other ships in range 1. Followed up with HLC or 4 dice at range 1, ships wilted under the fire.

Against low agility builds like the falcon and 2 x-wings, putting both missiles into the falcon almost guarentees a hit and with both x-wings in range one they were shildless end turn 1 or 2 depending on how fast I moved. On average, over 3 seperate runs against this list, the falcon was shieldless and so were the x-wings after one missile volley.

I'm making with the nitpicking too, but I'm very surprised that (unless I'm misunderstanding you) you hit with both missiles on 16 successive trials. It makes me wonder exactly what actions you took and what you were shooting at, since the only way I can get that to come out right is if you're shooting exclusively at Agility 1-2 targets and you have both Target Lock and Focus with your Firesprays.

I'm also not sure why you have the Weapons Engineer on Krassis. You can't use his ability and Target Lock on the same attack roll--you can't reroll any die more than once--so it would make more sense to either pull the Engineer off or downgrade Krassis to a second Bounty Hunter.

EP,

I'm not saying this didn't happen but WHO WERE YOU PLAYING??? I've been playing with the Assault Missile since November and I'm not even close to that kind of a success rate. It is better against rebels but who flys their ships that close together when they see an Assault Missile let a lone two in their opponents list.

I was setting up opponents myself, I did say it was somewhat theory hammer.

About 10 of the trials were against rebel X-Wings and/or Falcon.

Against Imps, it was mainly sneaking through 1 hit, but that still gave the splash damage.

I still have to test it in real combat against opponents.

If your opponent starts spread out, this theory takes a big step back……

I've been on the fence with buying another Firespray. But after reading some of ya'lls lists, I'm starting to think it will actually work out. It definitely sounds like fun flying two Firesprays around. Maybe I'll go ahead and buy another one before they're out of stock.

I just did… The last one around

Kath- Marksmen, Gunner, Seismic, Stealth

Krassis- HLC, Proximity, Stealth

Lead with Kath and stress as much as you can then mop up with Krassis

This worked out pretty well and got me a win.

2x Bounty Hunter with HLC and Dark Curse with Stealth lost, but the list I faced was super competitive.
