KR multicase for storing/transporting your Descent figures

By bulldoguk, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Someone asked on another thread so here is my simple solution to storing and transporting those awkward super large Descent figures

Everthing from both 1st edition and current 2nd edition fits in two multicases with room to spare, F3 and F4 models I think, as you can see they are cunningley labeled 'Descent' and 'Descent big stuff!' as I have over 20 cases of figures + my shelves it's often a quest within itself to find the right one if I don't write on the side!

Standard sized minis and cavalry sized fit nicely in the F4 multicase

By snipping the dividers in the F3 case, dont have to remove, just in case you need to use it for other things, and bending them out of the way or even over the figure for a little extra padding the large Monsters fit quite nicely with no bending. Even though they spill out of the compartments quit a bit in some cases there is more than enough padding in the KR cases to protect them. Again, everything from the 1st Edition and current 2nd releases fit in one case with room to spare

Once again pretty sure they are the F3 and F4 models, standard size compartments for infantry and the deeper ones (around 30mm) for the big stuff.

KR actually do rip out foam inserts and I do own a few of these for really awkward shaped stuff but I find you lose a lot of storage capacity so the solution shown here is by far the most efficient

Cases can be picked up from ebay for as little as £22 including postage here in the UK

Have fun!

This looks like a really nice storage solution. Neat, clean, square. Are these only available in the UK, do you know?

Bulldog,

Thanks very much for the detailed response. Those cardboard boxes look very good indeed. What is their depth? Or, rather, how many layers can they fit? one each of F3 and F4?

Steve-O, it's a UK based company but I would imagine they supply and ship internationally or have retailers that supply in your area? They aren't particularly heavy just bulky.

Gaarge, cases are 5 inches deep and are supplied with 3 of the deeper trays or 4 of the shallow trays, their websites actually allows to to customise your tray content too.

As I explained in the earlier post I own quite a number of these including some of their custom inserts for such things as Wings of War, nothing short of excellence all round

Dear Bulldog,

Thanks so much. You have exceedingly helpful. Our group have resolved to paint our figures now, so I'll keep you updated. I must say, I'm interested in applying the painting techniques you described. I used to paint a lot years ago when I was into Warhammer, but I remember it used up a lot of my time. Any way to get it done quicker would be very convenient.

Thanks again,

Gaarge

well sorry for the necro-bump but i was wondering how they hold up 3 years later and so much expansions on top of it... still fits everything in two standar sized KR multicases?

I use these for other mini games, have done for about 4 years and they last fine and the beauty is you can just add another box or change the foam layout if you need to expand.

They also do some great hard or cloth carry bags that the boxes fit into
