The Perfect Form

By RedSkull, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Well it looks like its time to break out the Bio Weapons….

This creation I am expecting/hoping to have turned into a long reachiing campagin that may take the group all the way into the Jericho reach. So the Idea so far a rouge element of a biologis group gets sucked into tampering with the human form. This is partly thanks to some help from a Fabius Bile type, maybe one of his clones. Therefor lots of enginered mutants, vore weapons, maybe even some Chaos infused flesh.

Starting out in the area of the Lathes with vore weapons and augmented servitors.

Mostly looking for input on other super mad scientist ideas, more bio weapons, any info on the activities of gene sculptures in the tech cult.

any and all ideas are welcome thank you reir

In Disciplies of the Dark Gods, you've got the Logicians that is a cult of heretek (and have many traitor techpriests) that dvelve in any kind of science to enhance humanity's strenght; they certainly go in this way. Otherwise, it is know for the Phaenonite radical/heretical faction of the Inquisition to go to any lenght to make mankind stronger; they work a lot in mad science.

These are official lines of enquiry you can test and if I'm not wrong, there is an evil NPC character in deathwatch that is a fallen magos whose aim is to heat Astartes flesh to maintain a genetical enhancement that he made on him to become immortal.

flesh sculpting , gene enchanments, how about mutants that have built in vore weapons

Any outside refrences to look into….villans from books/movies/video games that really stood out

Types of creatures/monsters ….out side influences are always helpful

For the "full monty" of grown weapons you could look at Scott Westerfield's Leviathan, in which the "Darwinist" powers use air ships bio engineered from whales inhabited by a whole ecosystem of parasites and symbiotes that serve as weapons, sensors or serve other purposes- Flechette Bats, Hydrogen sniffing spider dogs and Bees that make "fuel" for the air whale, or eXistenZ, in which the computers are disturbingly organic.

Tetsuo's transformation in Akira is of course both classic and iconic.

If you want to do a mad scientist and you haven't read Frankenstein, go read Frankenstein.

Oh, and if you have access to a PS2 and can stand questionable pseudo science Parasite Eve has some… interesting creatures.

I have read Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, seen Akira….super messed up….taking a few ideas from Dead Space, and the more recent Resident Evil games.

Never played parasite eve have heard mixed reviews but I'll give that a look.

The pseudo science is horrible. The plot pacing and gameplay are at best average. But the creature design is good and bio nightmare fuel style.

How about a 'smart' virus, like in Greg Bear's classic Blood Music ?

sounds very deadly

Thanks much :)

I ran my dead space adventure, which ended last week, on the premise that the Logicians Heretek cult were trying to create a new type of supersoldiers by combining human and genestealer DNA to create an army that could move fast, communicate via hivemind and recuperate losses and injuries in record speed.

So, there's practically no end to what you can do with a setup such as that. It also gives a perfect excuse for bringing in the Acolytes as tampering with the holy human form is considered outright blasphemy by the Imperial Cult.
