Now sorry if this has been covered before but I could not see it anywhere. When you reg equipment has a las gun but your spec eg ogryn, ratlings has its own main weapon does this replace the lasgun as it does for the doctrines weapons or do you end up carrying them both around. Because how much use is a lasgun to an ogryn?
main weapons and your lasgun
I play that they get everything in the standard kit. Basically the munitorium just think "We got 5,000 new troops here so thats 5,000 Lasguns, flak armour, frag grenades…" Generally they don't think too much about the individual people and their demands. Have fun playing by just taking the Lasgun as your Ogryn and snapping it like a twig when you are told to use it.
If you are a GM you could also have some great role playing by gleefully highlighting that all the kit the Ogryns have been given is standard Guard stuff. Give them a ripper gun and the like but then say how all the sleeping bags, gear and possibly even the uniform is man sized.

Normally, ogryn and ratlings are in their own squads, so this makes little sense from a fluff perspective
.
@OP: In my understanding, the Main Weapon designation is to signify a replacement. Each squaddie only gets one Main Weapon, be it a lascarbine an M36 or a sniper rifle.
As for the ogryn, the ripper gun is probably supposed to be listed as a Main Weapon.
items listed in your speciality are essentially added to your own personal "standard kit". Thus regiment determines the baseline kit and class determines the specifics.
For Ogryns, it isn a problem: you can find Ripper Guns everywhere. They have the same availability than lasguns ;D.
