My Custom Random Issue Gear Generator

I made a new Random Issue Gear generator.

I realize that it is not always fair and balanced and that sometimes a piece of gear with a low number happens to be better than a piece of gear with a high number, but in broad strokes I think it is workable. Let me know what you think and please share your own if you have made any.

Anyway, I like some of the items you put in your lists, but it's of no use (for me) if they are not ordered by their value.

Let us look at the original list from the core:

41-45: A 200 litre fuel drum filled with promethium.

56-60: A case of 100 servings of Recaf.

And:

91-95: A case of 24 Demolition Charges.

106-110: A case of 144 packs of 20 lho-sticks.

111-115: 12 bottles of amasec.

116-120: Any 1 item of the player's choice up to Very Rare Availability.

Cigarettes, booze, and coffee seem to be pretty **** valuable if the list from the core is ordered by value.

Well, I can see how cigarettes and booze can be a useful "coin" to pay for some services or items in the black market (I don't know about coffee, though). Maybe the amasec in that list should be at least good "craftmanship"…

And what can you do with 200 litres of Promethium??? How do you hide or move that?

Anyway, I will use your list to substitute items from the official list that have already been handed to the PCs in our game.

Just to get in on how I am handling this - I had my players roll awareness for some random goodies in the middle of a warzone. I gave them a bonus to their roll based on their DoS. So, one player got 2 DoS and I rolled 1d100+20 to generate what he found.

A 200 liter drum of promethium would be about the size of a 55gal drum. So about man sized. It would take passenger slot in a cimera.

Fuel tank capacity 95 gallons (360 liters)

for a M113 or close to a Cimera Its combat range was 300 miles or 482Km. So a 200 liter drum would give you an extra combat range of apox 267 km
