Had a game today to try out A- wing. I took 160 pt rebel fleet including tycho celchu with push the limit and cluster missiles. was very impressed firstly with the speed, 2,3,4,5 green foreward and turbo boost makes this thing move quickly, Tycho's ability allows him to perform actions even when stressed and with the upgrade card push the limit which allows you once per round to perform a free action from your action bar after you perform an action. the downside to this is you have to take stress token, This is no problem for tycho as he can perform actions when stressed. In one of the turns of the game I had an imperial ship on tychos tail. tycho performed a 3 kiogran(causing stress),then for his action turbo boost foreward 1, then with second action(target lock) take secnd stress token. this effectivly works out the same distance as doing a kigran 1. these a wings are quite versatile with 3 evade plus the evade action.
A wing kiogran 1.
Impressive. Most impressive. Maybe when I get my hands on one I will like it more than I do at present. Sounds like a lot of fun to pilot.
He can continue to perform actions well stressed but can't do any red maneuvers. Is that correct? And he would have to do multiple green maneuvers to get rid of the stress tokens?
I think it's an obscure rule that I spotted, but the circumstances needed for it have little to no chance of happening (it certainly never happened in my games, people remember their stress tokens):
the rules state that if a ship is already stressed and you take a red maneuver, your choice will be voided and your opponent will instead choose the maneuver for that ship.
Yes his card states he can perform actions while stressed, but while he is stressed he cannot perform kiogran turns, just for note the movements it can perform are WHITE; 1 L/R 90 3 L/R 45 3L/R90
GREEN: 2 L/R90 2 L/R45 2 straight 3 straight 4 straight 5 straight
RED 3kiogran 5 kiogran
stats on basic 2 lasers 3 defence 2 hull points 2 sheilds.
combine these with turbo boost or the ability to evade token makes a nifty little fighter. wasnt keen on them myself to start with but after seeing it in action
it will definatly change tactics in wave 2. I use mine primarily to out flank, three of theese would make a fast flanking unit that can out manuvre tie fighters, would reomend these to any rebel player, will be buying more of these before i buy a falcon.
Yeah, he can take *actions* while stressed but you just can't attempt any more Red maneuvers. But yeah, have you *seen* how many maneuvers are green on the A-Wing dial? It's bonkers.
March is not getting hear so enough I can't wait for the second wave.I am jealous of you players that have them already, slave 1 looks pretty cool. I am one step closer to a larger universe.
