Detector sabotage?

By Ryslaw2, in Battlestar Galactica

I have one question regarding the crysis test check that involves sabotaging the cylon detector. I'm not sure what the card is called in the English version of the game but I guess it is something in the vein of "Detector sabotage". It has a skill check at level 8, and if that's not passed characters from the lab go to the sick bay. Moreover the card stays in game and one cannot check loyalty cards of other players.

The question: Is there any way to remove the card from play?

I'd be very grateful for any info. The card popped out as the very first crysis card during our last game, we failed the test (well humans failed, I was a cylon), and we were unable to check the loyalty cards through the remainder of the game, which was a serious problem for humans.

We play it that it can not be removed from play, as no conditions are listed to allow it to be removed later during the game - unlike other cards, such as certain cylon fleet cards, which have it stated when they are removed. Basic rule for games is if doesn't say it then it won't happen.

I was a cylon from the beginning in the last two games and managed to sabotage this once and talk the others into thinking we couldn't afford the cards to pass it (we were being hammered early with high skill checks) in the 2nd.

TomH is correct. The card affects the rest of the game, and there are no cards that allow for its effects to be canceled.

Speaking purely thematically and to be facetious, you'd think that if the chief (or any other engineer) can repair and restore to working order: vipers or a whole section of the ship that's been rendered useless due to space combat / sabotage, he could replace some simple beakers and a microscope.

:D

They ran out of nuclear warheads...
