Manipulator Mechadendrites

By Mushkilla, in Only War

A few questions regarding mechadendrites I was hoping the community could help me with.

1)The Manipulator Mechadendrite says that it gives +20 to all strength based tests. If a character were to have to manipulator mechdendrites and were to use both to lift, or move something, would he get a +20 bonus from both for a total of +40 to the test?

2)The Manipulator Mechadendrite entry says that it may can be used to attack as the reaction for the round. What sort of attacks does this include? All actions with the attack subtype?

3) When can this reaction be performed, as the rules say reactions can't be used during your turn? Incidentally how does Furious Assault work in this regard?

4) It says the manipulator mechadendrite deals 1d10+2I damage, as this is a melee attack I assume you add your SB to this attack?

5) Would attaching the pneumo-shock enhancement (mono upgrade) to the manipulator mechadendrite be too far fetched (assuming it had an on off function)?

6) Would it be reasonable to assume you could charge and use the knock down action (opposed Strength test, +20 for manipulator, +10 for moving), to knock an opponent prone, and then use your reaction to attack them with the mechadendrite? It would be a pretty sylish combo.

Thanks,

1) I would say yes, but I'm not honestly sure.

2) I doubt it. Just a Standard Attack, if I'm reading it right.

3) Any time you can use a Reaction; in other words, any time you could Dodge or Parry.

4) The Mechadendrite is plugged into your back. There's no muscle behind the swing; it's all the machine. Ergo, I'd say no SB.

5) Might be tech-heresy (or illegal at the very least), might not be. Ask your GM>

6) I don't really see any issue with that, but I would suggest not using the Mechadendrite as a weapon for that. An average fella with a Sword will be doing 1d10+3 R instead of 1d10+2 I, and you can rather easily snag a Chainsword or some other such nice weapon.

Thanks for the response efidm.

Thoughts?

*Thanks Plushy (copied the wrong "efidm" part of the quote code, didn't realise this forum uses user codes instead of names! Also is there an edit button?)
