Human Replica Droid and Rebel Fleet

By MasterJediAdam, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

The DS player attacks the Rebel Fleet objective with a vehicle, and subsequently win the edge battle. Can they play the HRD? From the way I read the rules, there is nothing that limits him being played (see of 27) but since he is not a vehicle could not apply his blast icon to damage the objective.

Does this sound accurate?

No. The Rebel Fleet says that only Vehicle units can be declared as attackers. The HRD isn't being declared as an attacker, it just is put into the engagement as an attacker.

So you may play the HRD during that engagement, and it will resolve its icon as normal.

Correct ruling, but wording quibble: you cannot play the HRD during an engagement, but you can put it into play.

Very important distinction, yes. Thanks for the correction. :)

Sounds like there is an agreement. Cool and thanks!
