Gaishiki Lunar Rebellion vs Seal of c

By Tuesday2, in UFS Rules Q & A

If i play out this attack and use the E:destroy 1 of your opponent's assets. This attack gets + X Damage. X equals the destroyed asset's control, on a seal, the opponant will try to negate with it, if i negate the seal will my attack still get a damage pump, i got ruled saying no at the weekend cus the asset wasn't there anymore to be destroyed and give the damage pump to the attack.

would just like this stamped ether way please thanks

no, if they seal gaishikis E: it stops it at the colon, seal attempts to negate and destroys itself, then you negate the seal and then it goes back to the resolution of gaishikis E:. since theres no more seal out, you must target another asset or the effect fizzles

Stamp for Ziepnir.

Important thing here, you don't declare a target for the ability until it's resolving. You do not say "I play Gakishi E: on your Seal" - you just say "I play Gakishi E:." They then have the opportunity to respond to the play of the ability, and they do not know what asset you're going to 'splode until the ability actually resolves.

It the seal canceled the GLRs ability its kind of a moot point no?

Yes, but he's saying he's negating the seal's ability.
