I like the idea of a Necropolis alot. As the 4th corner.

If they do a Space and/or Timescape expansion… maybe it could go on any corner. For people like me that don't use Highlands.

That said, what I would really like is a small box expansion that was half new and half old. By that I mean, half the stuff in it is additional stuff already out there in other expansions. The stuff that people really like, the useful stuff, so we could have more than 1 of some things in our deck. However I don't want to have to buy multiples of other expansions.

• Need some more 2 & 3 bags of gold.
• Some of the Enemy dragons from the Dragon Expansion with Adventure Card backs.
• Maybe some Dungeon or Highlands cards reprinted with Adventure Card back.
• Place: Necropolis and it's Chapel counterpart. I'd love to have 3 graveyards and 3 chapels.
• Spells: Blessed, Enrich, Mesmerism!!!, Counterspell, Enchant Blade (it doesn't even get recycled), Acquisition
• Another Wand; Bag of Carrying; 3xConcealed Pouch for the Magic Emporium.
• etc.

New stuff.

• New Lunar Events.
• Always want more characters.
• More spells that do various metagame functions. A spell to move a place, or swap two places; one to emulate any board space of your choice placed where you want;
• Maybe some buff spells that last 3 turns.
• More Pets

In other words I want a Hodge Podge expansion.

I think it is more likely that a Necropolis would be like the Blood Moon Expansion; a small set - - but with lotz, LOTZ of cards like that one has.

As I've been on this board, I've come to realise that the 'balance' aspects of gaming in Talisman are pretty darn important. So I don't know if they could or would make the Necropolis too much like Blood Moon in other respects. FFG wouldn't put lunar events in this or other sets because there are folks who haven't and won't buy the Blood Moon, so that just wouldn't work. A future large or small set might not interface with a previous set like FrostMarch due to the same reason.

But a Necropolis small set could have its own dark themes and not rely on Blood Moon memes. So perhaps Zombies and walking Skeletons should be a big part. Some while ago there was mention of a Master Evil Lich; this would work.

I suppose to have real drawing power - and value, there should be at least one concept, or enhanced concept that is very important to Necropolis.

This should be a true, new way of using Dark and Light fate. I've seen a number of posters and posts, ideas etc that indicate 'paying' dark or light for various actions or situations, but I think this misses the mark.

The payment of either side of Fate should be marked somehow, and when a threshold is reached, a consequence must occur.

Gonna go crazy here (well as crazy as a 57 year old gets!)

Necropolis advances the idea of alignments, fate and DEDICATION to Gods, either evil, good, or indifferent to the fate of mortals in the land of Talisman.

Whenever any player lands for the first time on 'their' spot to pray (graveyard-evil, chapel-good) they either can or cannot 'dedicate' to their respective Gods (Neutrals can pick, but you can only hold one dedication at a time). Once you are dedicated, every time you pay a Fate you must place it, appropriate side based on your dedication or choose, on your playing area (or a new card in your area like quest or quest-reward cards?).

Let's say the threshold number is 3. ONce three Fate of either dark or light is paid, the threshold comes due. What could that be? ( I could go a number of ways or have them all even).

Possibly new decks, like the Dragon decks with differing encounter cards for each alignment (again neutrals pick their poison ). Like the Dragon cards there are cool objects or places, etc, but there are a lot of bad things too.

Another idea would be that you inherit a new ability or one time opportunities (luck!). Light side threshold: When you land at the Castle, roll a die: 1) you get an immediate extra turn. 2) Get a gold/extra gold (turning in Prince/ss), 3) gain a life. 4) take a purchase card or a stable card. 5) take a Quest reward card at random. 6) You do not have to turn in the Prince/ss at the Castle, instead they are your permanant compansion (unless other affects, spells abilities) and you heal 1 life automatically at any 'good' place you can pray at.

Whew. got myself going there. Well I have my own other ideas for Dark rewards, and I see different ways of doing this; reward decks or die rolls as indicated. I'll leave Dark Die Roll effects for someone else to speculate on?

I think the next corner expansion should be the forest simply to balance with the Highlands corner and also to keep the classic Talisman expansions line.Then the next big expansions if there's any,should be in the same vein as the Dragon's one but with different mechanics.I'd like to see a Vampire's Tower or castle as a small board to replace the inner region.On one side the castle and the other a gothic horror world or Necropolis,etc.We'd have our fix of zombies,skeletons,gargoyles,etc….and vampires of course.The Vampire Hunter needs to kill some…Anyway,after all the corners expansions are done,any small board to replace the inner region with new mechanics or epic bosses or both would be great.

Im hoping for more anti-magic here too and also lots of enemies, the world is too easy on the players at the moment imo.
Maybe something like an outbreak from the underworld, monsters and perhaps dwarfes? A playable dwarf ..priest? Fits kinda nice with anti-magic too, dwarves dont really like that stuff now do they?

Id also like another death/werewolf kina figure that targets high lvl players (increasing chance of encounter with higher lvl, moves wheh gaining craft/strength, worse outcome the better you are etc) to push players to make more risky moves towards the coc. At the moment I find myself and most others to wait until you're really sure on winning against a srt/cra 12/12.

As for expansions after the next small, large and possibly another small box im really hoping for a large box that complements every other box. Something like "Talisman the Grand quest"
-One box that can hold all the cards!
-Extra cards both the base game and all the corners that ties them toghether, I really like the day/night feature but there is no day/night cards for the corners.
-Replacement cards that converts objects from pre-highlands to trinkets. I mean come on, how the f*** should a four leaf clover not be a trinket
-More endings and printed danse macabre and original ending

If not a waterfall, maybe a whirlpool, and *that* is the way out of the board (portals or teleports you back to the main board like Dungeons or other expansions can).

since we like the Forest for its' magickal overtones, I'd like to see a high level Magic-user "female", for a change. Maybe the Enchantress has to check on things in the woods (her secret coven or similar?), or maybe the Enchantress has a not-nicer evil sister? (runs in the family; Enchantress gets grumpy, changes you into a toad… what could an eviler sister do?)

Yes, friend, the world is a bit easier lately (must be the City where you can buy anything that helps you).

I am thinking that if they do decide to issue an expansion that works with all the others, or links them or whatever, it would be the very last one, and probably a 'designer' issue set of some sort. The marketing aspects would indicate that not every player can or will have all sets, so such an expansion has special/deluxe all over it.

Having said that, I would certainly be interested in this. As I've pondered wiser thoughts than my own, I understand from a sense of game dynamics and balance that some of my ideas, though cool, to me at least, would not work unless one has all sets.

But another thing that may seem missing from the games is the sense of a King and court, with possible intrigues or situations. So if there is a Queen card, follower or stranger, like the Prince or Princess, maybe this allows a reward or bonus, because you must give safe escort passage back to the Castle. A Duke or Count needs escort to the Chapel, Temple, City, etc. Your reward could be gold or items from purchase/stable, etc. decks.

But if not these things, certainly more undead and possible amulets to protect from magic, would be welcome too.

Wishing next expansion would be small box with "chaos" which adds "Champion of Chaos", "Demonologist" and "Daemon". This would obsolete the "timescape" cause it´s just stupid to have a futuristic theme for Talisman with adventurer, robot, astronomer and whatever.

After that I would like a big box with the last corner "The Swamps" with old forest, marsh, witches cottage, lake (with an island?), maybe some caves. Also including Woodsman, Ranger, Satyr and Centaur.

I'm incredibly flexible when it comes to Timescape; it would not kill me if we didn't have it again. Your suggestions on Chaos-champion and Demonologist, would certainly fill the bill.

Now a swamp corner, hmmmm. That sounds interesting too, because swamps occur in and/or near forests, so…. check!

A witches cottage, oh, that sounds pretty great too. I wonder if it would be possible to have a 'good' Witch character, or at least a NPC as such, in the cottage you describe. There are gentler Witch encounters (Verdant Witch?), I think, so not too ground breaking.

With the idea of caves, perhaps there are 3 or maybe 4 of these and if you enter, one option would be to take you to another cave-space.

I've always loved the Timescape expansion.The idea of imagining my character walking side by side with the Maiden and the Battle Droid was kinda funny.But there's no need for a Timescape expansion,now that we have Relic.

There's always the potential for a small board/box expansion that would fit between the corner expansions, or possibly extend out as another layer to each side from the dead space between the corners. Something like a slightly flattned capital T.

Great ideas, all. Here are my two cents: The last corner should be the Orient, with the Ninja and Samurai, etc. Only, you get there by getting on a ship from the village - and that means that half of the new spaces are sea ones that take you to the orient (and back). So, you could fight sea monsters and pirates along the way and then oni and tengu when you get there…

I like the Orient. I would also like more desert, with Geni, Djinn, etc.

Ok, its silly, but why not: After the 4th corner/set completes the basic playing area, then a set that places a circle entirely around the main game and 4 regions. This circle, is the ocean. Perhaps occasional spaces would be islands, each with a different menace or set of dynamics. The sets of tiles, boards that ring around the main sets would be about 4 or 5 inces wides and however long. Some spaces wouldn't be 'draw card spaces' so we could have whirlpools or underwater kingdoms where you have your usual die roll to avoid, attack, evade, various things.

The points of entry could be the Wharf in the city and possibly some space in the 4th, yet unnamed and themed expansion.

Or the space between City and Dungeon, and Highland and ?, could be a bay that takes you to the outer ring… of ocean.

There's always the possiblity that secondary expansions could be created allowing different expansions to be used at the corners. This leaves the base game intact while allowing additional expansion and customization. What if I don't like the city as it is? Could be that there is a second version of the city that offers a uniquely different feel. Perhaps the second city includes a citadel with its own unique challenges. I've been gaming for over 30 years, I've got a lot of ideas….

Just to be clear, the thing I really want to see is the sea in some form, and it seems like lots of people have mentioned that. I was so stoked to see the docks in the City expansion, but it's just left me wanting more…

I think you're right GR, that many people would favor some water-based adventures. But I also think that such a board or concpet presents a challenge coming to market, as they say. So I wouldn't say they will never do it.

On the other hand, D and D type adventures are more often land based. But perhaps we'll see at least some more water - swamps, lakes, and island of some sort, in the future.

I would prefer to see some kind of water based expansion for the next board.

I've recently thought of a new/er idea for the final board expansion. Instead of just a woodlands, or just a Death-realm or ?

How about "The Netherwoods" a deep and dark foresty area, maybe some watery pools or streams, but all in all, it must be as dark and scarey/dangerous as the Dungeon can be.

And… It is always Night in the Netherwoods. So, just as Warlock/quest rewards has evolved through more than 1 expansion, the concept of Night comes to another expansion set, but with a difference.

In the Netherwoods, all enemy encounters are +1, ALL THE TIME. Even if you play with the Blood Moon expansion, any event that would turn the day/night counter back to day, Night will remain on the Netherwoods board. Ignore all attempts to make day. Now as with any expansion board, there is its' own set of cards, the event cards in this set 'could' trigger the rest of the game to set to Day (if you 're using Blood Moon), but that effect doesnt' occur for the Netherwoods.

Magickal beings and use should be heightened to the utmost, keeping the balance as slight as possible.

Since such woods are home to varying tribes of elves, dwarfs and others, perhaps there are warring factions who may have opportunities to abduct you - or followers and you have to barter or battle for freedom? Think Elf-tribe, like Night Watch, or other 'group' of enemy cards.

I'd like to see other types of enchanted or cursed beasts. Were-tigers?

Of course I also think that the woods of Nether should be home to at least one more vampire - maybe a female one this time?

I'd like one space to be some sort of haunted mansion… or crypt. I've heard others' ideas about the Old Wizard who started all this, coming back from the dead. Perhaps his hidden crypt is in these Nether Woods and certain objects or spells can help you plunder his treasure - - or accidentally re-animate him?

Since it is about 6 months since the previous expansion, the City, we should hear soon some news about the next expansion.

I'm hoping someone knows something, anything, for I believe whatever kind of set, …. final corner board expanson or small expansion,

it should come out by late Fall, maybe in November as Holiday shopping begins.

So, last call for any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, speculations, spoilers or whatever.

You realize that FFG created Relic, a talisman like and another GW based game and a timescape would literally be a bridge between the games. Many won't like that idea but now that both games exist, it is a natural, obvious, and potenitally seemless idea for those who might own both and thus be interested, OR if you got it you might buy Relic so the idea might generate sells of said other game.

Make it a small box with talisman cards that open up opportunities to travel to Relic board. If you need characters, its called the characters already in Relic and you need rules governing their use in Talisman. You can do the same for adding cards to Talisman from Relic and thus use Talisman characters in Relic.

I like the concept you invoke; I was never a hater of the 2nd edition Timescape. And I'm aware of Relic and its similarities to Talisman, but I have no friends that share this interest, even back in the '80s. I only play with my wife and she hated Timescape, rarely went by her own will or decision, so this would probably not be something I could convince her to "add on"".

Having said that, she has been pretty adaptable to the few house rules we've devised - as mentioned before, mostly concerning the use of the Dragon set.

So we're sorta both completeists, in that sense. We want to be able to use all legitamate expansions. I'm often curious and admiring of Home Brews, but could not see us doing that, unless they became official expansions or parts.

Well, gotta get along, and together, we're more a stickler for official use, save what I said about Dragons.

As I think about any small sets, one that could come before the 4th corner board expansion, my feeling is that rather than add to the existing Adventure/Main encounter deck, with many/more cards, wouldn't it be more interesting to create or enhance a game dynamic that allows more of the existing cards to be played, or at least gone through.

So I keep working on an idea for the Fate tokens to represent the forces of Chaos and Order and how that could cause more Adventure cards to be drawn, plus an additional new "random" mechanic.

Fate tokens are using in 3 ways, 1) to reroll a movement die, 2) to reroll an attack die, and 3 to reroll a space or card's instructions for die roll.

Let's consider that 1 and 2 may represent Fate in the sake of order; that Fate allows you to travel further or attack harder. Let's consider that 3, to reroll per a space or card's directions could represent more randomness; ie; Chaos.

Players must track their use of Fate. If you use Fate for 1 or 2, leave the token in your playing area, Light side up, for Order. If you use the Fate for 3, leave the token in your area with the Dark side up. At the beginning of a player's turn, if they have 3 of either color, if it is Light sided tokens, the player can draw I'll suggest) 5 cards and keep/encounter any one of the following; object/magic object, follower, stranger. Discard all other cards; ie; events, enemies or strangers you don't want to encoutner, etc. If, however, the Dark Tokens number 3, the Player to the left of that Player will draw the 5 cards from the Adventure deck. They can place 1 object, follower Stranger, etc - including enemies and events, face-down on any space in any Region., again discarding all other cards. And of course once this happens, the collected tokens are returned to the general pile and you start over.

That's basically it, and as you can see, this actually needs no expansion; one could actually home brew it as an option. So what's the point?.

Well, maybe a little tinkering could provide some higher stakes represented by 2 (or more) new smaller decks of "Dark Gifts" and "Light Gifts". An option or mechanic that allows a Player to align with Chaos or Order (like good-evil-neutral, I suppose) and thereby have an option to collect up to 5 dark or light tokens. You exchange the tokens for either of the appropriate gifts. These could be either or a combination of nifty new treasure like objects or even gifts, qualities, additions to levels that the Warlock Quest Reward cards provide.

New player characters for this set could include a Chaos priest and and similar 'alternate' characters we have. Their special abilities could involve ways to gain or play extra Fate, or to possibly avoid the random chaos that might come their way.

And of course Alt endings would possibly have players either 'selecting' the ending they want (order), having to pull a random new one, or…

if another player has more dark or more light tokens than the one that lands on the CoC first, perhaps something great or nasty could happen.

Well, I'm a little vague on the latter details, the main ideas are tracking use of dark/light Fate and getting to draw more cards from the Adventure deck. Perhaps options for other decks could be brought in (if a new Lord is crowned at the beginning of a Player's turn who is exchanging 3 tokens, Player/Player to the left has the option to draw from that Dragon Lord's deck?)

If I'm not mistaken timescape was a oval shaped board that was put off to the side and wasn't connected to the main board at all. I hope it comes out eventually but there is still a corner to go. I would put my money on Forrest like most people. And the idea of mini boards to go between the corner boards would be a rather nice touch added to the game.i could see a mini board cemetery or haunted house maybe. And the other side a small beach board that could be used as an entrance to another off the side board for an ocean or a small castle might be fun

I too hope they have "boardlets" between the corner boards. A cemetary would be great.
