Shouldn't this unit have the cavalry trait?
I do understand that the art of a cavalry doesn't automatically imply that it is…but given the dark elf "side theme" of cavalry, it could have made this unit more useful.

Maybe… The card is old, though, and we haven't seen any other unit get a trait errata if I recall correctly. A lot of the traits were a nice little extra piece of fluff before, only recently are we seeing cards like "Cavalary Raid" that makes Cavalry an important trait. This topic comes up whenever there is a new card taking advantage of traits, but it hasn't resulted in any trait changes yet.
I see, thinks for the clear up. I think you're right about the "fluffy traits". There's quite a few "Raiders" in the dark elf library that don't benefit from the new rule.
The way i see it, it wouldn't hurt the game if we'd house rule the Cold one Knight as Cavalry for the purpose of a themed deck.
Current cavalry cards for dark elves include Dark Riders, Cold one Riders, Spawn of Kintearer, Morathi's pegasus, Har Graef Knights, Cold One Chariots.
Ya, that should be cool if everyone you play with agrees. The one that always makes me do a double-take is the Slayers of Karak Kadrin not having the "Slayer" trait, but I just accept it and grumble whenever it comes up.
The slayers always make me grimace as well. It's in their name!
