Excel Character Builder

I love this character builder. My group has been using it exclusively. It’s a great way for us to keep our characters up to date. Thank you for all of your hard work on it.

One fix I’d like to see is the description for the talent Scything Tirade. It’s an Average difficulty roll, not a hard.

Not an upgrade in my opinion.

If compatibility with business documents issued by a company who use MS products is an issue then this is an upgrade.

I use Open Office on my laptop and my wife's laptop, but have both MS Office and Open Office installed on my workstation just for full compatibility.

Was just wondering how things were coming along, Bren? Haven't herd from ya for a bit!

Minor issue.

The sheet currently has Insight listed as (as of version 1.05):

"Perception and Vigilance become career skills."

This should be Perception and Discipline"

The document actually changes Perception, Discipline and VIGILANCE to career skills.

I stopped trying with Open/Libre and installed Office for Mac. Thankfully, I have a license through work.

Another suggestion. I'm not a fan of gear that isn't carried being removed from the character sheet. Would it be possible to add a "Not Carried" notation or strike through instead of removing?

Anyway, like I said in the Age of Rebellion Beta forum, bumping this, in the hopes that new content from Enter the Unknown will be incorporated into the sheet. Thanks again for this excellent tool!

Another bump, as this is still, in my opinion, the best builder out there. We still back you up, Bren. Hope you can provide an update soon.

Wish I knew enough about excel to monkey with the data.

I'm pretty good with Excel. Will have a look at what Bren has done and see if I can fix any of the issues raised (need to look back through topic) and maybe even add some of the requested features.

Added some Enter the Unknown content (Obligation, Species, Specializations, Talents, Motivations). Still need to do Signature Abilities - need to work out how these can be added based on what is already built - and Gear.

Just toying with it a bit - and it looks like the XP values aren't calculating right. For some reason I'm seeing a starting XP value of -200, instead of the 100.

Looks like a lot of talents are selected. Gotta clear them out for the XP values. I noticed them in Archaeologist.

The XP issue was me leaving test data in. I have now added Signature Abilities.

I think it would be better if the requests were posted again.

I'm starting to get used to the methods but I have a feeling that there is a lot of unneeded data in the sheets (most likely because of the old data not being removed as the sheet was developed) and so I still have to be careful when making changes. I would like to go through the sheet and double check everything but that is going to take time.

@Bren - I just want to say that your work thus far has been great and I want you to know that I take no credit for what you have achieved up to v1.05.

My first requests would be to keep un-carried gear and weapons on the character sheet. Maybe put an asterisk beside it or do strike-through. Would be useful for those characters who have gear on the ship that they don't normally carry. Such as having different big guns or what not.

I would also like to see Lightsabers on the Human species skill list.

When ranks of Lightsaber skill are added the XP spent isn't calculated into the character total.

Keep up the great work of keeping Bren's dream alive.
