I was in my FLGS about 3 hours agoand they already have the expansions marked down. I paid $5 per pack. When I asked why the Str Mgr said that their was a big backlash from the old CCG group. They refuse to buy into it. Is anyone else seeing these kind of discounts?
no....i think the store i go to is selling coc better than they have in a very long time. i have to ask them to hold or order copies for me or it might not be there when i stop buy.

I have no idea who he might be. I've never gotten into any CCG before. I just refuse to buy any thing blind purchase. The LCG aspect and the THEME are the reasons I got into the game. I have the expansions but no starter set....yet,. That arrives Monday from Time Well Spent.

My FLGS only carries the core set, priced over $50 CDN, and won't carry any of the new packs except through special order, for around $20 Cdn apiece. I gather from the manager the old CoC ccg crowd aren't expected to buy the new stuff because of the white borders and card back changes. I think Fantasy Flight lost a lot of sales because of those two really unneccessary changes (particularly the white bordering). There are a lot of Arkham Horror fans around the FLGS so hopefully some of those will give the new LCG a try.
Funny, I just bought 5 APs, AH, MoM, AD, SotS, and HBTS today, even though my Core Set won't arrive until tuesday.
And so my son and I made some decks out of just cards from the APs to give the game a test-drive. Only got a few turns in though.
Oh, and I had to pay full price for those ($9.95)
Whenever my FLGS gets them in they fly out the door same day.
I can see the issue or rather an issue though, cos opening a fixed AP is not as much fun as tearing open a random booster pack.
