Epic cards

By Rozy, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hey do you still remember the Epic card mentioned few months ago?

I have heard some rumors that they wanted to make 3 Epic cards in each of the CPs Cycle. So I know that there has beed 3 in the Clash of Arms cycle. There is Rheagar Targaryen, Rheagars Harp and Battle of the Ruby Ford. Each of the cards has a special design with colorful decoration. But I havent seen any Epic cards in the ToR cycle yet. I still dont have the Refugees of War CPs but I guess there are no Epic cards since noone mentioned that. So what do you think are there going to be any Epic cards in the last CP - Scattered Armies? Or do they make Epic cards anymore? Or do they make them just one in a while not 3 in every cycle?

If we are going to see some more of these Epic cards who would you like to see.

There is one Epic card in Refugees: War of Five Kings.

i think he means legendary cards (ragher, the harp, and battle of ruby ford)

There are 2 that i can tell, but i'm not sure why they are not in special format. Dayne and Dawn are both legendary. Maybe they don't have a special format because they are nuetrul and don't want to confuse people?

That makes more sense... I thought I remembered the Research and Design journal saying that they scrapped the special format stuff after they decided the cards wouldn't be Ultra rare. I could be wrong though.

This is what I remember as well. Rhaegar, the Harp and Battle of the Ruby Ford were originally planned before the Chapter Pack format. Since the cards are fixed now, they're still going to have "legendary" cards, which presumably hearken to events before the beginning of the AGoT book, but they wouldn't look distinct from any other cards.

By the "hearken to events before the beginning of the AGoT book" criteria, I'd say our Legends for this cycle are Ser Arthur Dayne, Tower of Joy and possibly Dawn because of the synergy with Ser Arthur Dayne.

i missed they talk of the format.

I never thought of tower of joy as legendary, i mean its still there (like battle of ruby ford is legandary, the ford itself isn't) but i guess it makes sense especially because all three of those cards work awesomely together.

Actually, no. It's not still there. (Forgive the spoiler, but it doesn't really give anything away...) Ned remembers pulling the Tower down to build cairns.

Thanks al for replies. I missed that those cards are legendary not epic, but the idea is the same.

So I also missed that the legendary cards will not have any special design anymore, but I would be nice to know what are the legendary cards :D

And you are right. Ser Arthur Dayne with Dawn and Tower of Joy are a good combo. It is just hard to get together :)
