I've hit a small conundrum.

My understanding of the RtL rules in regards to Master Monsters read thusly: For every Master Monster the heroes defeat, they gain 100gp in addition to two conquest tokens.

Now do I have this right? Because after playing two games of RtL, we're two levels in to the second dungeon and they're streaking ahead with Conquest over myself. Its very, very unbalanced. Essentially I can't really spawn anything from the annoying perspective that I stand to lose more than I gain.

In addition, does anyone else find the increased size of the OL deck an issue? I realise there's an avatar upgrade to permanently remove four cards, but for the amount included in the recent expansions, its a bit over the top.

Any thoughts and advice would be most welcome. Cheers!

I haven't played RtL, but a quick search of the rules PDF suggests that 100 coins and 2 conquest is the reward for killing an encounter leader or dungeon level leader, not for all master monsters. I haven't been able to find anything that modifies the normal reward for master monsters, but I only spent about a minute with the search function, so it's possible I missed it.

Seconded. The reward for master monsters is unchanged from JitD: 50 coins. Only leaders give conquest.

Yep, you are way over doing the pay outs. You need to figure out a way to adjust the totals or think about starting over.

- Normal master: 50 GP

- Dungeon Level leader: 100 GP + 2 Conquest (If there are multiple level leaders then each pays the same)

- Level leader for last level of dungeon: 250 GP and 4 CP

- Encounter Level Leader: 2 Conquest + roll on encounter loot table

And I was going to say it's another "Do master monsters give 50 gold when they die ?!" xD...guess you managed to do it even more worse.

Yeah, I'm going to need a serious rethink about how to rebalance it, though I'm loathed to start over again :/ Though considering the amount of cash they've also nicked off that, it may be the only option. Cheers for the help all...
