Hi everyone,

It’s time for the March State of the Game, so lets get started.

The first topic is Nationals and where are they going to be? They will be at Origins again this year, FFG does not have a booth at the convention but some of us will be there to run the events. Team Nationals will be run on Friday June 26th, and The Singles championship will be held on Saturday June 27th. Registration for both events starts at 10am.

I am happy to say there are no bans or errata this month. Yes we are looking at cards as we always do but nothing we are taking action on this month. We will see what what the new base set and block 3 do to the meta.

Speaking of which, the pre release for set 12 will be April 8th through the 11th. this is 3 weeks late from what I had planned but was unavoidable and I promise you it will be worth the wait. Spoilers for the sets will start next week, look for the new mechanic called combo along with lots of other cool cards that I’m dying to get my hands on to build decks for the invitational.

Speaking of which if you are planning on attending the invitational here in MN please post on the forum thread we put up so we can get an idea of how many to expect. The main event will be block 3 but there will be other side events and at least one draft and legacy event if there is enough interest, so bring several decks. For those of you attending the UK event here are the details:

It will be held at DonkeyCon, yes that really is the name of the con. The con happens on Saturday 30th March and will be held in the Herbert Manzoni Building at Loughborough University in Loughborough. Entry to the PotM is free, but there will be a charge to get in to DonkeyCon. The event will be a Block Three constructed, with banned list in effect. this will be Swiss format, cutting to top 8/16 depending on numbers.

The 3rd anniversary retailer promotion is a huge success with over 150 retailers signed up already, thank you for helping to get he word out. It looks like the player trade up promotion is also going to be very big as well, please remember though this is to get new players in the game not for people already playing.

For those interested in the ShadoWar character contest we had some major e-mails crashes this week so if you sent your entry this week please resend just to make sure I have it, because of this issue I am also extending the deadline to March 10th. Thanks to everyone who have already submitted your entry I will be reading them all while I recover next week.

As some of you already know I will be out of touch for about a week because of some minor surgery but should be back on the boards by the middle of next week, thanks for all of the well wishes and kind words. This really is the best community in gaming.

But yeah. The one major issue I hoped to get resolved isn't touched on here (nor should it be), but I'd have been hoping to hear news about it. Oh well. Also, you're REALLY doing us a solid by extending the deadline to March 10. It'd help if you could tell us whether March 10 is inclusive or exclusive, though ;p.

Awww kinda sad about the prerelease being pushed back ;o; . Oh well it happens but I wonder why it was pushed back :/ I just want my Tira xD . I hope your surgery goes well and wish you a speedy recovery.

Bleh well thats entirely disapointing to hear the release, that was pushed back so there wouldn't be any more push backs, is pushed back again.

Wow, so the pre-release is 4 days, Wed-Sat, and the week right before Easter? thats just.... odd

the push-back is nice, it means that this second half-finished character I was working on will actually be done.

also, since i will be out of town the week of the previous pre-release date, I like that I will actually be able to attend this one

It's nice to see a finalized release date. Just upset the week it shows up. I was hoping for the week before so we could run a Pre-Release the night before the Southern Ontario Championship. Ah, well. I've figured out what I'm gonna play mostly now.

Not too long ago I wrote about a keyword ability called "Combo".. is it the same one? Will I get credit for such a game mechanic if it falls in the same line?

Gotta go find that post... all I remember was that Vermillian bashed me for derailing the topic I posted it in.

Hm. Prerelease being pushed back kinda sucks, but 'sno big deal, really. Gives me more time to stash away some cash to buy a ton of stuff =D

Lack of ban or errata also surprises me. I would have thought a few functional erratae would have been slated by now (such as Ken6). But no news is good news, they say.

And I still cba to do the Shadowar character creation contest. I has a lack of motivation n' stuffs. I had a good idea for one, just couldn't find the time to flesh it out. Maybe I'll submit it after all.

Ok, well let's see how close it comes to what I came up with. Basically it's

Combo: <insert keyword> - You may only play this card if the last attack you played this turn is a <insert keyword> attack.

So..

"Combo: Kick" would mean that this "combo" attack may only be played if the last attack in your card pool is a "kick" attack.

"Combo: Multiple" would mean that this "combo" attack may only be played if the last attack in your card pool is a "multiple" attack.

"Combo: Combo" would mean that this "combo" attack may only be played if the last attack in your card pool is a "combo" attack.

quite simple and helps us rid of the long text usually found on cards like Jaguar Thousand and Tiamat's Rampage.

Would be awkward for Hata if it is the same ability since I would technically be the maker of the ability. Just need to wait to see if it turns out to be the same ability... maybe I can get a job with the R&D team? hehehe

I am very very curious of to what extent is this "combo" ability comes to mine cause what I wrote on the previous page was not all. My "combo" ability also works with card types.. such as Combo: Asset, Combo: Action... etc.

Maybe Steve will spoil it after we start getting previews...

Not really sure what further errata is required.

Hi just woundering you said that the pathn of the master will be held at Loughborough on the saturday 30th march at donkey con the thing is the date 30th of march is a monday so is that weekeend or a differnet date
