Can you play a Jedi

The idea that as well as this they have a fully developed, balanced Jedi worked out and are just witholding it for no reason seems rather rediculous.

Conspiratorial I'd say, but ridiculous is a good a term as any.

One man's conspiracy is another man's plan of development.

No, I don't want to play a Jedi in *yet another* Star Wars RPG where either everyone has to play a Jedi or those who don't end up being marginalized, or even useless, during play.

Just out of interest, given that they have made a game where you can't play a Jedi, and have penciled another in for long after everyone has died of old age where it sounds entirely possible that you won't be able anything other than a Jedi, what gives you the impression they are even going to attempt this?

(And given that it has never worked before, why the heck would it work this time?)

I find it 'interesting' that you decide to selectively quote my post, and then claim that you *can't* play a Jedi in EotE, while completely ignoring a sentence not all that much further in that said:

"And, as I've said before, using the Force rules present in the Beta gives you the opportunity to play a character who can do most everything that Luke can do up through the end of Return of the Jedi. So, by that metric, you *can* play a Jedi using the rules we've already seen."

Of course, I also find it 'interesting' that you think everyone will have died of old age in 2 years (and change). That said, if you're actually in coming up on your 90s, and are physically infirm to the point that you don't think you'll be *alive* in a couple years, I think I finally understand your impatience.

Seriously, lookup the words 'hyperbole' and 'melodrama', and then try to use a bit less of both.

I wonder how long till this thread gets locked.

No moderator in this forum so kind of depends on how many reports they have had.

Pretty sure any useful discussion about Jedi is over at this point though so may as well talk about another subject. There are certainly plenty out there.

Let's talk about something much less inflammatory. How about Jar Jar? :)

I think we already have a thread for that. The "Races?" thread pretty much devolved into a pro-/con- gungan discussion.

Yep I was being sarcastic. Trying to add some levity since there has been some heated debating at these forums lately getting out-of-hand (myself included) even though I assume we are ALL Star Wars and RPG fans since we visit here.

Hey!

After reading throught the Beta book I have started to prepare the beginers box scenario for my group of players. I am very excited since I don't remember the last time I was a GM in a non-fantasy RPG.

After talking to my players I have realize that we want (need) a bit more "jedi presence" in our games than the one presented in the book, and of course we don't want to wait until they release the core book covering the Jedis sonreir

So, is there a place where I can look at the different homebrewed jedi rules that other people have done? I am looking for something that covers Jedi powers up to Padawan level more or less. No more is needed, no Jedi Knights or fancy things, Padawan level will do.

Is there a set of house rules that shines above the others? Any recomendation?

Cheers,

Yepes

Came across this one and it looks pretty good.

Of the options presented so far, DarthGM/Phil's Jedi Career is probably the best by far. It doesn't cover everything you see Jedi doing, but it largely uses talents from the Beta, so there's far less chance of game-breakage by way of unbalanced and untested talents.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my own homebrew expansion for the Force. It's not a Jedi-only supplement, but rather a moderate broadening of the options out there for Force-users, and by no means was I am aiming to create a laundry list of Force powers. I also put it through a significant amount of playtesting, and had some very sharp minds take a look at it for anything that could still be problematic or horrendously broken even after the playtesting. And then playtested that when and where I could to ensure the changes suggested did what the suggestor intended.

Thanks guys,

I got the document already, I will give it a read.

Cheers,

Yepes

How big is this book going to be that meets everyone's needs? It's already 450 pages. Should we make it 750?

Uh, I'm newish here and don't really know what we're all upset about, but…um, yes…

Sadly, levity doesn't appear to be much appreciated on these forums, especially with such "serious business" topics as Jedi or the lack there-of.

If it isn't a big deal, just make with the Jedi already.

Chedder, gouda, montery jack, mozzarella? What's a good cheese to go with that?

+1

PS: This is Dance Commander. I ran into a pw problem and I could not get help from the site at all. It was easier to make a new account than deal with it.

Here guys, more info on the upcoming Force & Destiny. Although you may not like what you see.

Yep, looks like its gonna be more than two years

Guess that's what happens you troll the forums.

From LethalDose's link:

"Taking heed of comments on their own forums that Edge of the Empire games simply didn’t feel “epic enough” or sufficiently capture the “larger than life” aspects of the movies…"

Huh? My son and I are plenty impressed. This game (beginner set) is a hoot right from the get-go. Anything more "epic" and I'd feel like I was playing a cartoon.

Clone Wars maybe? :-)

I guess I put my foot in that one… :) Oddly, I have ceased thinking of the Clone Wars as a cartoon. Maybe it's the amount of detail, the grit and dirt, the sad drunken Coruscanters on level 1312, the Pa'lowick who's love goes all the way down to her "fluid sac"…I dunno, but somewhere along the way it all transcended.

Even though this is an April fools joke, I don't have a huge sense of humor about it. Yeah, because being vocal about wanting Jedi in a Star Wars game is being a troll. As a customer, EotE has done very little to entice me to support it and in my opinion, It does not represent Star Wars without a strong Jedi presents. The EotE sounds like WEGs product. Totally not a complement.

I thought it was wonderfully passive agressive myself. :0)
