Cylon Crisis Card Question

By GalaxyUC, in Battlestar Galactica

Hi there all,

I've recently played the solo variant of this game and the group game. I have to ask this, and may have already asked it, but; How does the Cylon Attack Crisis Cards work?? Do they stack?? I mean, you start the game with Cylon ships on the board, then you could draw two more before the fleet jumps, and if there all stack, first you run out of ships, second, you could lose the game right away. What's the deal, I'm doing something wrong. This makes solo play next to impossible. Help me out with an explaination. Thanks!

I don't have the rulebook in front of me, but it's available here . There's a blurb at the back about components and "running out." I don't remember the exact page off hand, but I think it will answer your question better than I'm about to.

According to my understanding, ship and token placement is left up to the amount in the pot, as well as to player choice. If you run out of basestars, for example, the current player gets to choose what ships and components get placed. In this regard, it seems like you would just use whatever raiders and vipers are left in the pot to fill out the crisis card as much as possible, and whatever you're out of you ignore. In another example, if the crisis card calls for you to place two basestars but you only have one, then the current player chooses where the last remaining basestar would get placed on the board and ignore the other. I guess the thought is, if there were enough components to place everything, the board would look like a pile of raiders and basestars and things are tough enough for the humies already :)

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong?

Rudy is right. See Component Limitations page 28.
