Buzzing the dragon

By Barefoottourguide, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beta

A PC is in a speeder above a krayt dragon who is resting on the path leading up the canyon. To distract the dragon so his allies can get by, the speeder pilot tries to fly downward, buzzing the dragon to provoke a chase (and let his allies pass afely). The PC rolls 2 failures and 6 threats on his pilot check. Is there a crash? How do you determine damage?

Of course it's up to you how to interpret the roll. There are near endless possibilities.

The intention was to distract the dragon to chase the speeder. The 2 failures indicate this did not happen. Six threats (a bunch) indicate something bad also happened. Possibilities include a crash as you suggested. It could also indicate the dragon took a chomp out of the speeder. Perhaps instead the threats indicate the speeder is bumped by the dragon, it careens off towards the hiding spot of the allies, then crashes nearby them. This causes the dragon to actually discover the hiding allies and charge them - the opposite of what the PC had intended.

Damage during the crash if there is one? Page 160 of Beta covers this in the sidebar. It involves giving a critical hit of varying magnitude to the craft depending on the force of the collision and shields. Minor if bumped by the dragon, Major if crashed I would think.
