The Wagers of War follows the members of a penal drop troop squad as they combat the enemies of the Imperium. The missions are tough, the support is negligable, and the danger is great. But with great risk comes great reward, and the reward for a successful campaign is freedom. That is if they can survive….

With regiment creation finishing up, we're looking to start play by the end of next week. We already have three players, and I'd like to get two or three more. I will start by running "Old Soldiers" (from the Gamemaster's Kit) before continuing into missions of my own creation; it's possible that "Against the Savages" (from the core rulebook) will be featured down the road.

I'm interested in joining the play by post. I have the rulebook and a lot of experience gm'ing the other 40k RPGs, but I haven't had the chance to play only war yet.

Id like to join, i have some experience with with DH, BC and DW (though not much, still in progress). So if you have a slot for a green Only War player do count me in. I will take the liberty of checking out the forum and tagging along. However i do understand that more experienced players may have preference : )

If you are still keen for a third player, then I'm interested in joining. What gaps are there still in the squad? Do you have a medic or an operator? I'm happy to fill any slot, preference would be an Ogryn though. Someone tried to kill the commissar of my unit, and I crushed him to death, but he still managed to murder the commissar. I was blamed for failing to protect him, and found myself in this penal legion. Or I could be a medic/operator/specialist/heavy gunner. I'm quite easy with filling gaps.

I do have a few questions though.

1) How far along is regimental creation and do we get input if we come in at this late stage? Because if we do I'd like to say no combat drug doctrine if that is alright.

2) Which dice roller does the group prefer? Or are we happy to just trust eachother.

All of that can be explained by checking out the forum link in the OP - it's pretty well laid out. We've basically finished Regiment creation (we don't have combat drugs), and we're sorting out who is picking what specialty at the moment, so it'd be worth jumping in now, if you're interested in playing.

As for dice roller, I imagine we'll be using something like http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/ for that.

New to the forum and just saw this thread. Is there space for one more player?

I am a long time fan of WH40K and I just purchased the Only War core-rules and want to get playing either by PBP or some 'meeting software' and online realtime voice. I haven't played or used the book, having a hard time finiding and getting players to startup a game or campaign. If you need some more people then definitly count me in.

Let me know if I am in or not?
