The catapult given in Disciples of the dark gods has a pen of 6 but the avenger catapult in CA has a pen of 4 in the avenger entry. In all other ways that catapult is superior, so is this a typo or are they deliberately lower pen than the normal catapult?
EDIT: The armoury entry at the end of the eldar chapter gives it a pen of 6 as well...
It also has a clip size of 30 in the character entry and 100 in the armoury.

Not sure on the official answer for the pen and ammo for the catapult, but I use the armoury section when i doubt, so Pen 6 and 100 clip for me.
Looks like the character entry is in error, the correct entry is in the armoury.

I've houseruled that when firing on semi and full auto that they deal tearing damage to represent the sheer number of shards flying through the air

I'd think that the high pen values are enough already. Giving it tear would make it just sick IMHO.
Meh not really, Without the ability to RF for NPCs or something similar, it doesn't matter how many D10s you roll to cause damage because rolling a 10 has no effect. Get tough enough and enough armour and Tearing is irrelevant on an NPC.
I also found that the Enuolian has his character entry list different stats for the shard weapons than the armoury entry. However they're up and down. The character entry lists Pen1 and Impact damage for the shard rifle, whilst the armoury entry lists Rending damage and Pen0. The character lists 100 round clip, the armoury 40. The pistol is listed with 20 rounds in the armoury, and 100 in the character entry (which makes senes re the sidebar on their crystaline technology, as they are interchangeable with both weapons they should probably have the same number of shots).
Oh, are Talent/trait effects already included in the character's stats? The Lictor and genestealer both have the multiple arms trait which gives +10 Toughness - both have the same Toughness (60).
All in all I really like the book. It's a worthy addition to the DH series.
