I am relatively new to the game and am trying a new squad layout.

Thoughts on both squads welcomed.

I have no experience with the YT-1300 or the A-wing, so I can't comment on your Rebel list.

But for your Imperial list I would drop Marksmanship and give Vader Swarm Tactics instead. With only two attack dice you don't have great chance of getting a focus result, so it's nice to take the Focus action to have it stick around for defense if you don't use it on attack. With four Academy Pilots zipping around, Vader is bound to be in range1 of one of them, so he can boost them to attack at skill 9 in the combat phase.

Or you could give him Squad Leader. Vader could give one of his actions to an academy pilot that rammed another ship so he isn't totally defenseless, or give them an extra Barrel Roll/Boost after the opponents have moved to get in a better firing position.
