Armsman-10 vs. Stub Automatic [Availability correct?]

By Gregorius21778, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

I had a look at the stats for the Armsman-10 and compared it to the generic "Stub Automatic" in the IH

  • it has a better range
  • it has a bigger clip size
  • it is indentical to the "Stub" in any other aspect
  • which means, even in price and availability(!)

This would mean a player trying to aquiere a weapon would be ("rules-technical") plain stupid to go and try to get hold on a stub since the Armsman is same price and as available while having a better performance

Dear FFG:
I know that this work was still "Black" (*g*) but is this to be RAW or should the availability of the Armsman-10 be "reduced", perhabs to "common"?

"I try to find an Armsman-10. That´s a common one!"
"Okay, but remember you are on a frontier world..."
*dices*
"Well.... you aren´t able to find an A-10, but a local armsdealer offers you a stub automatic"
"Ah, cr*Q! Well, let´s get that one"

Reading the fluff it strikes me that it's availability should be lower. They're supposed to have the mark of their contracted buyer machine-stamped into their grips, which implies their distribution would be more controlled than that of a regular autopistol pattern.

The Armsman-10 is a hive world weapon, so the cost and availability is listed for hive worlds specifically, on other worlds it might be more expensive and/or rarer but that's left to the GM

While there are weapons where the IH states that these have a different availability on different worlds, the Armsman-10 does not have any such paragraph attached (or am I missing something?).

In fact, as long as a GM isn´t "house ruling" it, the "Stub Automatic" isn´t making any sense any longer.
