Question about data packs

By AloneTrio, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

Hi

I'm new to this game and couldn't find the answer to this anywhere, so here goes:

As we all know, the "What lies ahead" data pack contains 3 copies of 20 different cards for a total of 60 cards.

Since once can't use more than 1 copy of an identity card, it would be a perfectly good idea to give away the 2 extra copies of the Whizzard to 2 friends, right?

My question is: What about the extra copies of the 19 other cards? Is it possible to use more than one of each in a deck? Or would the "ideal" use of this data pack be to be purchased by 3 friends who then get 1 copy of each card?

Thank you!

I can only assume you do not own the game, because surely you'd have noticed multiple copies of cards being in the core set decks. And the rulebook will tell you that you can use 3 copies of card in a deck.

You are right, I don't own the game myself. :)

Thanks for your answer!

Yeah, you can use three copies of any card, except Identities.

Giving away the other two copies of an identity to friends is perfectly valid, and shouldn't impede your ability to play or field a competitive deck in any way.

The other cards, on the other hand, you may want to keep. The few in there that are really good are probably worth three copies of each. You may want to field all three in a deck you build later on. I would hang on to them.

Good to know, thanks!
