Nice! Is that museum board that you are using or is it glossy? That's what was required for the models in my architecture classes.

It's sheet styrene from Evergreen scale models and Plasticard from Litko. I use the 0.4mm and 1.0mm thick sheets.
Hey guys, I've been working on the Neb-B, and it's a beast to get the parts to fit. They *barely* fit at 1:350, and 1:270 means that several of them will cross multiple sheets of paper. But it WILL be done.
It'll be ginormous, though. My scale calculator puts it at 1.1 meters long. The 1:350 version is only .857 meters.
OK, cool Boomer_J, so you're making this one all plastic from the start.
I recently completed the 1/200 scale Hindenburg kit out of paper, and it is over 1.2 m long, so I am familiar with what handling this size is like. My rebel transport is over halfway done now, just when I notice FFG is releasing theirs. I will probably end up modifying the base so that it is the same as the FFG model and use it in-game, as the model itself is not important to gameplay.

The CR-90 is all styrene plastic also. I wanted to get more detail in it and it to be stronger.
But it’s still a fragile model.

This is fantastic. I have a feeling your frigate will be larger than FF.
Looks like you are off to an excellent start!
This work is absolutely fantastic, Boomer_J. Absolutely
fantastic
.
One thing I absolutely must ask however. How are you going to get the central strut to keep that enormous engine from flubbing the balance of the model? I've always wondered how that'd work in a Nebulon-B model.
I think he could simply support it from both ends, like how FFG is going to support the CR-90 and GR-75.

Oh, right. I hadn't thought of that... Derp.
That thing is a beast BRAVO!!
Unbelievable! Wonderful work. I wish that I had your skill. Bravo indeed! Bravo!

You think someone will replicate a scale Executor? Lol! That would be excellent. I'm doing a scale DP20. There are 40 darn gun barrels on that mama. Thanks for posting.
Edited by Viceroy BoldaOh my wow! That is really flipping sweet! The Frigate was always one of my favorites.
This part of the ship is a pain in the $$$ to build!! It should be more rounded and not so square. I think it is also too wide on the top.
Edited by Boomer_JI have to agree. I have been looking at cleaning and drinking plastic containers for the start of my huge rebel ship...Ha! Keep working, it is looking good man.
Galaxy size shampoo bottle required Boomer!
A slow progress and I am running low on styrene.
.
Edited by Boomer_JA bigger version of how I did my Neb B would probably do the trick, mount the front boom into a square section to stop any wobble then a simple acrylic dowel supporting the engine pod, this allows the central spar to be free for docking ships, etc.
That is fantastic. What a nice job!
I finished my initial version of the Rebel Medium Transport, and am considering giving the Nebulon B the same treatment... after I finish a couple other projects. Hey MF, have you finished tidying up your papercraft of the Nebulon B?
As to not pollute this thread, my GR-75 can be viewed here:
http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/76620-1270-scale-gr-75-medium-transport/
Still working on it. I keep getting burned out on it; there are over 200 parts, and it's not easy finding ways to rearrange them on 8.5"x11" paper. Plus, that Imperial Customs Corvette is really taking a lot of my spare time at the moment.
EDIT: Just finished it! I'll be making a thread on it in a second. Just need to upload the model to Mediafire . . .
