Great painting has really accentuated all of the details, looks fantastic. I have a model of this myself and so I am also working on ideas to create a base and stats for it. I am also painting mine and need to add some more to get it "flight worthy". Love the close up of the A wing next to it.

I've said it before and I will say it again……NICE WORK! That is something to be proud of, and hell, it would look great just setting on a shelf. I still havn't figured out how to use my much smaller CR70 in a game so good luck on that.

My cat loves to play in paper and it so happened to play in the paper the Nebulon B plans where on. My cat is not declawed so it shredded those plans I painstakingly converted into 1/270 scale. So now I have to redraw the plans. Guess that’s what I get for owning a cat and not doing the plans in CAD. Yes the cat, Brody is his name, is still alive though I did want to force chock him and ask him where my plans were. So it’s back to the drawing board. I would like to do a scale rebel transport or a Vigil-class Star Corvette. But for now I think I will just redraw the Nebulon B and keep a close eye on Brody.

A Corellian Gunship would be cool and go well with the corvette. One of the large bulk freighters would also be good for some missions.

That is jaw droppingly huge in both length and height. I wish you all the luck and plasticard in the world if you attempt to build it but will totally understand if you decide to scale it down, even by 30% it will be more the big enough alongside the other models.

Well I hardly ever get to play. No one to play with around here and a busy schedule makes it hard. I’ve played like maybe 4 times since I got my first core set back in November of last year. I’m still not sure about all the rules and upgrades. L So I guess that makes me a collector that sometimes plays with his collection. So instead of spending time playing I spend it on making large minis that are too big to use. Well it’s an aspect of the hobby I guess. But I do so look forward to having my Tie interceptors chase an A wing through my Nubulon- B and say “They’re going for the medical frigate!” Love that Return of the Jedi scene.

I have had a lot of enquiries about selling a CR-90 so here is a quick general answer to that question.

I honestly have no idea what to charge for something like this. I spent at least 4 months on the CR-90 and something you put that much effort into has a high personal value. If I made another one I would probably make a cast of the parts to make a resin kit. I have thought about making another one to add more detail and cleaner and crisper lines. The second one should build quicker since I kind of have a feeling for what I’m doing now. But I have never made a mold or worked with risen before so there would be a learning curve for that.

I have seen one of a kind models go for as much as $1,500 US and limited resin kits go for $300 to $400 US but that’s for a studio scale professional model, which my model is neither in my opinion. It is defiantly not an exact replica but just a presentation of the CR-90. Maybe I’m selling myself short I don’t know. But then again there are no CR-90 models out there in 1/270 scale so that makes it kind of unique.

Then there is the legal aspect to consider. Am I charging for the model or the service of the build, like selling art? Will I infringe on copyrights or royalties by selling a model? I don’t know. I guess to me a complete build is worth about $600 US and an unbuilt resin kit about $250 to $300. This of course is an uneducated guess and I would have to do more research to come up with a final price if I ever did sell one. I don’t know if it is too low or too high or legal?

On a positive note I did submit my work to http://www.modelermagic.com/ and I have been accepted to have my work displayed there. They have about 70 photos of my work so I will let you all know when they get them up on their site. Since this is a professional scale model site I should get some answers to some of these questions from them.

Yes I used a scaled up Pepakura model as a templit for the core shape or as a platform as a start as describe befor in this thread. So I geuss there is that to consider to.

Sorry I thought I described the process on this thread but I guess that was in a private message.

This is what I did for the core shape. I printed and enlarged the plans like stated earlier on paper. Then I cut out the plans and used Elmer’s rubber cement to past the pattern on to styrene sheets. I used the rubber cement because it was easy to peel the paper off the styrene after the parts where cut out. I had to do some modifications to the core to get the shape I wanted.

Once I had the core shape I added the plating, piping and greeble.
