1/270 Scale CR-90 Corvette and EF76 NEBULON-B ESCORT FRIGATE plans in 1/270 scale.

I wish I had the space for a board big enough to do a ship that ship justice.

i have a 4x6 gaming table that it would fit on just fine......im just sayin....

Stupid small English houses....

I did some work on the aft section of the ship. f16e75b2db266953b1ebdca380662d95.jpg d6b42604de8897d836a36aece2f872aa.jpg 52f63ecec66b2a1c9174909d3d495538.jpg 53fb8bb1eabf57d1f3e69bdd41a54fd9.jpg 2df123fd689d9b15829d872b5f44c950.jpg

Where's this line?

What scale is it?

Big-ass ship scale.

AKA: F'n HUGE!

That beast is looking incredible. I'm curious if using balsa wood doesn't lead to problems down the line, I've seen movie models come apart like that when the wood expands from moisture and the plastic peals off.

I hope not

I hope not. I plan on sealing the wood with a lacquer. Thanks for the heads up.

It really starts to look like a real Nebulon-B frigate.

Great stuff!

I'm looking forward to more pictures.

Likewise, nice work.

Great work, but...

LORE CHECK:

Is there any given reason why the ship is designed the way it is, or was it purely because it looked cool?

Origin and design [ edit ]

Industrial Light & Magic 's Nilo Rodis-Jamero and Joe Johnston created the frigate late during work on The Empire Strikes Back , with the design following a suggestion by George Lucas that it be based on an outboard motor . [2] The model was produced in a short time with limited financial access; it was primarily built from components left over from previous kitbashing exercises, including battleship hulls and artillery pieces. [2] The resulting model was 247 centimetres (97 in) long, 99 centimetres (39 in) tall, and included a "window" where a still from the scene in the medical bay could be inserted for filming. [2] [3]

Any progress on building the Nebulon-B?

Progress has been slow dew to the purchase of a new Finder Squier Bass VI guitar and a class for work.

To tell you the truth at first I was worried because the front looked like it collided with a bridge as it tried to pass under it.

Now it looks basicly fine and I love how huge it is! Do you per chance live in Michigan? I would love to fly fighter escort for that thing!

Also:

What songs do you play?

I’m in East Peoria IL and I’m just learning to play guitar but love the smiths and the Cure sound.

Thank you all for following my progress in the construction of my 1:270 scale epic ships. I hope you are enjoying the updates though they maybe slow at times.

I noticed some of my pictures do not show up on this thread any more so here's two links to my Pinterest boards so you can see all the progress pictures of my CR-90 and Nebulon B.

I will still post updates on this thread as soon as I make them. Thanks again.

You're an undercover FFG designer about to announce you're going to auction this off to the person who comments most between now and Christmas, aren't you? You sly dog! Thanks Boomer_J! You're what makes FFG so great, taking your work home and sharing it with us all. Splendid! Splendid!

... sigh.

It’s been almost a year since I have made any progress with my Nebulon-B but I have started to work on it again.
