How does "Range" work?

By CoyDK, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Is the range of a attack unlimited or how does it work?

fx a goblin archer's range, where do I find it?

/ Thanks

Strictly speaking, the range is determined by adding the numbers on the attack dice rolled. If the target is within that number of spaces you are in range. There may be other factors involved to determine if you hit your target including Line Of Sight and special action abilities, among other things.

so if I role 4 Hears and he rols 2 Shield I shote 2 quars or do i still shote 4 squars and then deal 2 damage?

there are numbers on the dice, count them, add them together, thats your RANGE rolled ;)

Ohhh! Stiny!

Thanks for the help m8, I have scanned the rulebook but I cant find the range info anywhere so cheers :)

And by "Stiny" I mean "SHINY"

LOL "Stiny" was greatly used!

But as for the Range question look at page 12 "3. CHECK RANGE" paragraph. Your answer is there! :)

Here's the sentence: "The numbers rolled on the dice are the maximum range of the attack".

OR

On page 11, Core Rules, THE DICE chapter.

The line starting with "2-6" explains the range: "2-6: Some dice also have number on them, which determines how much range a given attack has (see "3. Check Range" on page 12).

There you have it. Good questing!
