Once FFG runs out of Star Wars ships to make would you like to see fighters from other SciFi universes added to the mix?

By zathras23, in X-Wing

Ok, fighters it is

See that wing of five purple demon Dive Bombers on the left screaming out into the void...

...how cool is it going to be when I can send out 10 wings of them to assault Yamato and her EDF escorts?

VERY!!!

Yeah sure 50 of these wonderful little demons done in fine detail plastic at Shapeways is going to cost $100.

The joy of running games at that serious-ass level is worth every penny to me.

^_^

All day...every day.

I have no issues with starting another stand alone game for BSG, B5, and such. I am ok with people using them together as house rules but don't mess with Star Wars. George Lucas has done enough already. Feel free to interpret the previous statement however you wish.

This was a rejected Klingon Bird of Prey designed for the latest Star Trek movie.

I like it.. I love the plating around the cockpit and some of the sharp detailing.

Much better than the one they went with. I think they made a conscious decision with the new Trek films to avoid anything that looked like it might be a good design.. From flipping phasers to hunchbacked Enterprise it is a feast of ugly...or maybe it is just me

I really loved this ship:

I actually do not reconize it, It looks like one of the Wing Commander carrier vessels.Looks good

It's the Tiger's Claw!

Fantasic designed carrier. I also like the carriers from the picture above, though i've never seem them before.

Would definitely want to see the Battlestart Galactica ships. Then, I'd be interested in seeing the Buck Rogers ships. Then maybe Traveller (like the Scout Type S), and even the Terran Trade Authority.

Traveller! I haven't played that rpg in a long time. Thanks for posting the link to that store.

No.

I should have recognized that. It is a groovy carrier, though i am admittedly more battleship inclined. The ones above are from the animated remake of the Yamato series and one of the few examples of revamps being better than the originals. they didnt change much, just proportions a little and improved the surface detailing

Everything about Yamato 2199 is better...watching the entire series now.

We need to get them 1/1000 fighters and bombers going in January...

:D

I shall double my efforts

Yup that first great big $50 is waiting for you...I limited myself to only getting the Yamato and that first set of Gamie ships this December so that I could get you the first payment. I wanted to buy that three pack of EDF ships too, so bad I could almost feel them in my hands...but I was like: " Nope, I need to get Gossie that first installment."

PM me your regular business email too so I can PayPal you next week when I get paid again.

First, no I'm of interested in cross-over into X-Wing.

But the conversation about these other universes has been fun. Somehow I seemed to miss out on Yamato, but I did manage to catch G-Force. I also spent many hours playing Wing Commander.

G-Force!

:)

...don't forget Shogun Warriors either, all done in that period.

Would I like to see more figs? Yes, of course. Figs from other series'? Yes, of course. The same basic game engine to run them? Sure. Officially sanctioned rules for cross-overs? No way. Cross-overs are for cons and clubs.

Good God I'd forgotten about G-Force.

I loved that show. 7-Zark-7 and Keeyops. "Purr-poo-too, really cool"

I even had the plastic and metal ships that clipped together to form thePheonix when I was a kid.

I had the Shogun Warrior models...oh my how they sure made me happy. Missie Fist! Chest Rockets! Power Swords! Go Shogun!!!

The sad thing is that 7-Zark-7 wasnt even in the original, they had to add it later, since after editing out the serious violence etc the show episodes were too short

Yeah they messed with Battle Of The Planets too, because of some sexual'ish content...

I'd not like to see these in the same universe, but using the same mechanics:

Robotech/Macross.

Oh god please yes. Do it FFG, and I promise to buy enough MAC III's and Zentradi Officer Pods to put your kids through college.

you do know that in february there is a robotech miniature game coming out from palladium books right?

i got in on the kickstarter and have a butt load of miniatures coming in, including 1 MACII.

the valkyries will come in all 3 modes and you replace the model when it transforms.

game looks sweet, miniatures look even sweeter.

go to palladium books website and get the link to the kickstarter to see for yourself

i put over $300 into it and like i said will end up with over 200 models

@takes the Zentradi officer pods and uses them in his battletech game.. .. *innocent whistling*

Yeah a couple of my buddies went crazy over that KS. I like it sure, but I rather have Gossie sculpt me up some tiny fighters to go with the new Yamato 2199 fleets.

:)

Im glad you arent wanting me to do Macross *L* i am just not a fan of that. It seemed so pointless to design a transforming combat armour just so that it will look like an F-14and that just annoys the hell out of me, Jot to mention Minmei the narcoleptic singer.and the fact the whole thing was a rip off of Gundam. The fighter/combat armour units from Mospaeda were a lot better i thought. No offence to those who like Macross intended,we all have our preferences

Yeah I kind of like all of that stuff to varying degrees.

But what am I going to spend money on like a crazy person...now that is another story.

Believe you me when I say that I know what is out there. There are for example, cheap to own tiny Star Blazers models done in craptastic pewter castings that are very close to the 1/1000 scale...blah I could drop $50 on a fleet of them, and pretend that what I have on my table is cool, and so am I for setting it all up and getting everything painted.

NOPE.

I live in the real world...thanks.

We are going to have super cool new models in clean modern materials to go with these sexy new Yamato 2199 series kits.

:D
