Focus Power Test

By Qaia, in Black Crusade Rules Questions

Please help. Either the example from the Core Rulebook is totally wrong or I totally don't get it: the example on page 208 with regards to Corpus Conversion (Paths to Power, Chapter 6: Psychic Powers).
Vandar Herroth has a Willpower of 55 and a Psy Rating of 6. Attempting to obliterate a group of Enforcers with the Doombolt power, he turns to the Corpus Conversion power to bolster his efforts. He is restraining his efforts, using the power at the Fettered level, requiring a Focus Power Test result of 80 or less. He succeeds, with a roll of 43, scoring four Degrees of Success. To this he adds an additional Degree of Success from Corpus Conversion, taking 1d10 Toughness Damage in the process, allowing him to unleash five bolts from the power.
Now, for a Fettered test, instead of 80 as in the example, wouldn't we initially have 70? i.e., 55 + (6/2)*5 + 0 = 55 + 3*5 + 0 = 55 + 15 + 0 = 70? The 0 term is the Focus Power modifier for Doombolt on page 213, i.e., "Challenging (+0) Willpower Test".
Then, if the test succedded with a roll of 43 the Degress of Success is 3 (1 Degree for the initial success + 2 more Degrees for 70 - 43 = 27). This calculation is in-line with what we would expect to obtain using the value of 80, as stated (i.e., 1 Degree for the initial success + 3 more Degrees for 80 - 43 = 37, for a total of 4, as stated).
Next, an additional Degree of Success is added due to Corpus Conversion. In the original example this brings the count to 5, whereas I'm thinking it should be 4.
Lastly, the example states that 5 bolts from the power are unleashed. The only way this would be possible is if Doombolt is classified as a Psychic Storm (1 bolt for each Degree of Success). But Doombolt is classified as a Psychic Barrage. This means that in the example only 3 bolts would be produced (1 bolt for the initial Degree and an additional bolt for every two successive Degress), and only 2 bolts according to using a value of 70 instead of 80 for the Focus Power test.
There is no mention of this example in the errata.
Your feedback is much appreciated.

You are right, FFG are stupid. Don't read the examples.

OK, the value of 80 is actually correct as stated in the example. Nonetheless, a little bit of explanation could have went a long way.

So, you get the 70 as I wrote in the example, but you also get a +10 modifier because of the Psy-Focus that is part of the starting gear. So that part is cleared up.

However, I still think that Doombolt is a Psychic Barrage and not a Psychic Storm. Therefore, only 3 bolts would be produced, not 5.

If an example seems wrong, it is. Easy rule to follow.
