Newbie Question #2: Multiple Monsters?

By player377182, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

How does combat with multiple monsters on the same space work?

We had an encounter at a location that generated 2 monsters in one space. One of our investigators moved there to fight them and we got stuck.

How does this work? To the monsters combine their minuses and toughnesses?

Thnx

Choose one, encounter it. Then encounter the other.

You choose the order in which you encounter each monster (at least until some nasty new mechanic forces you to deal with them according to dimensional symbols...).

Read Again.

YOU choose. This is one of those times when Arkham gives you a break. Use it to your advantage:

1) Kill the mi-go, warlock, tcho-tcho or other "back to box" critter first, you might draw a useful item for the next fight

2) Leave everything you cant kill or evade til last - grab all the trophies you can before you go down.

3) If spellcasting, consider which spells to use with which monster, remember they will stay exhausted, and look at the horror check for the upcoming monsters, remembering your sanity will likely be lowered. Same with exhaustable items or items that cost money or sanstam.

4) If planning to evade any monster in the sequence, check the colour. Some monsters are fast or stalkers and they might follow you. Kill them first if possible.
