Questions about League Play

By Hastur, in CoC General Discussion

Hello!

I have a few questions, directed more toward FFG, but anyone who can share their thoughts.

1. FFG said the first League play starts in March. Now that it is March, are we going to get an official release date? Or should I just start the League on our next gaming night?

2. Thanks to the massive snafu by Overstock and Amazon, my local stores can't get any AP7 in stock (I assume they are all stuffed into return envelopes from people who were expecting Core Sets and got those instead). Can I allow players to build with one copy of AP5 and AP6 instead, or should I wait for AP7 to become available?

Yeah we've had some issues with players already getting AP8 in the mail and wanting to add

it to there cardpool for leagues but the game stores haven't been able to stock'em

'cause their distributors haven't got them yet. Obviously AP8 won't be legal until

their available to league players through the store. I'd like to see more coordination

between release/availability and league weekly play.

My league host had trouble restocking AP7 because his distributors were out.

The game store owner contacted FFGs and they allowed him to order directly through them.

If you're in town Jim, you are welcome to join us at Bell, Book & Comics on Wednesdays!

I don't make it out there much on Wednesdays yet, but should I happen to be in the neighborhood, I would gladly stop by.

My plans in Chicago are to start in March regarless of FFG. When they send the package out, we'll use it.

We also put together a separate interpretation of the FFG guidelines. It covers the APs we will allow and tries to clarify many of the gray areas from FFG. Our interpretation is only official for the Chicago league. It's done mainly to avoid endless discussions and to get on with actually playing.

You can do one for your league. If your interested, send me a PM with your email and I can send you what we came up with.

We are also starting a adventure league at Chicagoland Games on Friday Nights at 7 PM. If anyone is looking for a group in Chicago. We have a real friendly group which is a nice mix of veteran and new players.

If anyone is looking to join up here is the store info:
