I have the beginner box and will playing through the included adventure and then the Long Arm of the Hutt. Once we are through these adventures I am confident that I can create some more of my own using the little that is included in the beginner box but I was wondering:

Is it worthwhile to try and track down a copy of the beta rulebook or should I just wait for the full game? Do we have any idea how different the final rules will be from the beta?

I would say that it depends greatly. He much do you expect to pay for the beta version? Can you wait until the release? The final book will be 400 pages, while the beta has 200 pages, and you need to apply the 14 pages of update.

I'm guessing that the changes in the rules will be minor, but there will be some, I 'm convinced. I am sure that FFG is still looking at the forums and will implement some changes based on the feedback we give them.

So in the end, I know I will be buying the full version, and to me my breakpoint is if I can get the beta for 20$ or less, within a month an chalk, then it's worth it, longer than that, the return is too low for me, as we'll have to convert the character twice (one for the beta, and once for the full version)

There is a copy on ebay right now for $30 + $20 for shipping, so id say thats a little steep, if I could find it for $30 including shipping id probably grab it.

We played through the intro adventure and we'd like to make our own characters before playing long arm of the hutt. I plan on buying the full version when it comes out and was thinking I could use the beta rules as a second book for making characters but if there will be a bunch of erratta to print off and differences in the classes and abilities Im not going to bother with the beta.

I didnt follow the whole beta process so I just wanted someones opinion who had.

Looks like we'll have to stick with the pregens until spring.

So when is the actual full up book coming out? All I can find on the site is the Beginners Box and Beta info.

I have picked up the beginer game and a copy of the beta. It is worh having now if you do alot of gaming. We have already run through the beginner game and the long arm of the Hut. But as I read the forums it looks like there will only be one new book for the game a year. To me that keeps me playing past versions of the starwars RPG for quite a while until there are more books. I think two books a year would be good but llike that will happen.

I'm sure they have more than 1 release a year in mind, but all FFG has mentioned is the release dates for the Core books. Look at WH40k and all the books they've put out for it and that should give you an idea of where they are probably going to go with this.
