My previous RPG group has gotten a bit tired of 40k related games and is dabbling elsewhere for the time being. With Only War now released I'm left in a situation where I find myself going cold turkey without taking part in one.

What's the plan then?

I'm looking for a few good players (maybe five, a couple more at a maximum) who would be interested in taking part in a Only War campaign via Skype. Now, don't worry too much about voip as I only really use Skype because its the best **** instant messenger avaliable for things like storing messages and organising groups without dying abruptly.

Theme

I'm rather open, so if people want infiltration missions, tank regiments, trench warfare, just speak up. As a general rule my sessions tend to have a focus on the roleplaying side of things (between PCs and NPCs) rather than number crunching though given the nature of the game combat will of course take up a good part of it.

Specialisations

I currently have one player down who is interested in being an Operator and another who is rather open but leaning towards Commissar a little (him and everybody else I'm sure). I usually prefer guardsmen-focused squads without many specialists but people are free to roll what they want as I can fill the ranks with comrades. Depending on the regiment though I might restrict Orgyns and Ratlings.

Regiment

Up for discussion. Pre-made or player generated (once everybody is together) I am fine with. If people aren't bothered or can't make up their minds I'll just pull Cadians by default.

What day, what time, and what timezone? I'm interested if it's easy enough for a European player to join.

I'm not too sure yet. Most likely, its going to be about 10pm-11pm-ish start time (GMT). Any day is fine with me personally, so its down to what is the best for the players overall.

The time may be earlier if we get a group consisting of mostly Europeans.

I'd be willing to give it a go if you can fit my schedule (I can only reliably game on sundays although other days can be made to work) and if it's a relatively short campaign. A month or two of gaming every other week or so at the most.

I want to try out both Only War and roleplaying through the net.

I'm European btw (Sweden).

I've got the beta and am waiting for the digital release and haven't decided wether to pick up the hard copy yet. Is it mandatory to have a hard copy?

Clearly this is an awful place to ask for a DM to step up and I feel a little silly.

Edit: Reading more carefully I see that you might play earlier. I'd be very interested in a game with an earlier start time.
