Symbol Specific Abilities and Seals

By B-Rad1234, in UFS Rules Q & A

So situation for ya:

I have a character who has say... Good and have a Seal of Cessation out. I play a Spinning Beat and enhance with the Death enhance on it. In between now and the resolution of the first attack I pop the seal for something, thus losing the Death symbol. Since Beat's effect is a floating symbol specific effect, does it still trigger if the attack or any of it's mulitples do damage?

Furthermore I play Begin Anew's Death form (in this case playing an All character), then say Seal the KFT that tries to stop it... Will the form fizzle?

Cheers,

Brad

the symbol specific enhance on spinning beat only cares if you have [Death] when you play the ability. meaning even if they try to negate the ability and you seal their negation, the ability will still resolve creating the floating effect.

again, once you pay the costs for the ability, the ability doesnt care if you have death anymore. meaning that it only checks for death on your character before your opponent has a chance to negate.

but it brings up another question of if since you pay the cost for the ability and make the control check at the same time when playing an action, can you use your seal to negate a BRT/forethought on begin anew, can you still play the [death] character ability?

yes. just like a character restriction, you can't even attempt to play the ability unless you meet the requirements. once the card/ability is already being attempted, it doesn't matter if you no longer have the resource.
