Is Anyone Else Out There Returning After a Hiatus?

By ThulmannFan87, in UFS Deck Building

I played UFS back when it was just SC3 and Street Fighter and went on somewhat of a hiatus. Now I'm back into it, and since Fantasy Flight have taken over from Sabretooth, I find myself at somewhat of a loss. Do I start again with a few new decks? Are all my old cards, the ones I spent several hundred good British pounds on, useless? Am I really all alone in my plight?

Do let me know if you too have felt this way, or encountered this dilemma in your own gaming experiences.

Thanks

Thulmann

I apologise, as this has nothing to do with deck building. I feel somewhat of a fool now.

Due to rotation the SC3 and SF set 1 cards they shall not be legal in standard UFS format.

However they are legal in legacy ( Cards that are legal in standard ( Block 3) have a 4 pointed shuriken)

These booster sets have 4 point shurikens:

SF:

Fight for the future ( Only a few though)

Domination

Deadly gound

Warriors dream

Soul Calibur:

Flash of the blades

SNK:

Cutting edge

KOF 2006 ( ENtirely KOF set)

Flames of fame

Darkstalkers:

Darkstalkers

Realm of midnight ( Out of production)

Also there are quite a few promos you will have miised , if you plan on being a tourney competitive player you need to get ahold of these money cards:

Olcadan's mentoring

Seal of cessation

Chester's backing.

It's good to see someon returns from a haitus. :)

If you want to contact me add me to your friends list

Stealth Hanzo.

main thing is, yes the cards you have are useless in tournament play, but not in legacy.

bloodrunstrue's statement about "needing" the money cards is very untrue. although its an easy way to make a dumb deck with said cards, there are multiple ways my playgroup has shown to build even dumber decks without the money cards everyone is after. the fact that he even has to say that is precedence for why these cards are overpowered. while you dont need to use these cards yourself persay, you will have to run defense against them if you want to play competitively.

you should first probably see how your playgroup is doing before investing in these cards since: 1. if there isnt a playgroup, you wasted money 2. if your playgroup doesnt have said money cards then it opens up alot more options for the better side of the game, avoiding the dreaded R-wars.

if youre playgroup is one of the big tournament locations however, be ready to see the same cards in every deck

i would like to add that only 25% or so of darkstalkers is block 3 legal.

Not meaning to sound horrendously stupid, but what's legacy?

Legacy is like the extended/vintage format in Magic. All cards (except for those on the banned list) are legal for tournament play in the legacy format.
