Limit once per round and change of control

By Paimen, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Yesterday I ran in situation that opponent triggered ability of Robb Stark(LoW): "Any Phase: Name a Trait. Until the end of the phase, each character you control that has that Trait gets +1 STR (+2 STR instead if it is Winter). Limit once per round." Then I did get controll of Robb with Reek in that round. Can I now trigger Robb's ability or not? Basically is limit once per round bind to card or to player?

Card text is always read from the point of view of the controller, unless it specifically says something different.

As such, the limit is also read from the point of view of the controller. Depending on the wording of the actual limit, that usually means the limit is applied separately to each controller.

So in the situation you describe, you would get to trigger Robb if you wanted - not because you are a different player, but because you are a different controller.

It's a fine line difference, but it matters. Consider the difference between "Any player may trigger this ability. (Limit once per round)." and "Any player may trigger this ability. (Limit once per player per round)."
