Character Tokens

By DylanRPG, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beginner Game

I'm waiting for my shipment of the Beginner Game to arrive, and I was wondering if anyone who already has the game can tell me: what are the character tokens included?

I believe I read there are 25 of them … what's the ratio of monster/enemy tokens vs. tokens that can be used for player characters?

I'm planning on adapting the included adventure to characters that my players create themselves, and I'm wondering if all 8 Species will have Tokens represented, and what my options are.

If some kind soul could list the ones included, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ok here goes:

Large Tokens

1 - YT-1300

4 - TIE Fighters

1 - Rancor

1 - Hutt Crime Lord

Small Tokens

8 - Destiny Tokens

1 - Human Female

1- Human Male (Pash)

1 - Droid (41-VEX)

1 - Female Twi-lek (Oskara)

1 - Wookie (Lowhhrick)

2 - Imperial Officers

4 - Stormtroopers

2 - Stormtrooper Sergeants

4 - Gamorreans

3 - Mynocks

4 - Droids? (Maybe power armor?)

1 - Trandoshan

2 - Shady looking human males

3 - Cyborg looking human males

3 - Aqualish thugs

I think that's everything. :)

The beginner's set really makes me wish FFG could provide us with a boxed set for EotE similiar to what we got in WFRP3.

Thanks so much! Very nice of you to do that.

So no Bothans, Gands, or Rodians. I suppose it makes sense, since the Beginner Game assumes you will be playing with the pre-made characters.

This makes me wonder if I should invest in buying more Star Wars miniatures to use instead, or wait for the release of more tokens and use place-holders in the mean time.

**** - I wish they had included (or would create a PDF for) the two extra characters on the website…

If someone could give me a measurement of the character tokens, I could whip up some tokens for the extra characters easily enough.

It's just a matter of cropping out a portion of the art from the extra character folios, placing them in appropriate sized circles on a blank page, saving as pdf and linking the file here. Then you could print it out on card stock and cut it out.

Speaking of which, perhaps I will make my own tokens for what the beginner box doesn't provide and save some money on buying miniatures.

Sweet, thanks. I don't have the box yet (it won't arrive til after Christmas now… avergonzado_triste ), so can't provide measurements or any details about borders, etc to match.

Actually, thinking about it, printed character booklets and tokens for the two spare characters matching the box set (perhaps even a printed copy of the bonus adventure) would make a great PoD expansion FFG!

I'm guessing the character tokens are 1" in diameter.

I whipped up some tokens of Mathus and Sasha.

If the size is off, I'll re-edit it.

The link is below.

1. Download the file

2. Print the file (preferably on thick card stock paper)

3. Cut out the tokens along the circular borders

I made the borders of the tokens a bit thick, let me know if you want alternate versions that are more subtle.

Dylan,

The tokens are indeed 1". They don't have a border, so no worries about that. To get them closer to to the official ones, shrink the image so that the heads are slightly above center and the shoulders of the PCs are just showing. Other than that, they look good.

Thanks for the tips Darian. I've updated the file accordingly. Is it an improvement?

No Problem :)

Mathus looks ok, might want to shrink Sasha down another 15%.

Yeah, they are 1" tokens on decent card stock. Easy to make more in most photo editing apps, even MS Paint. Probably a way to print them to stock and have them cut out at some printing shops.

Done :)

They look close enough to pass muster in my book. well done! :D

I've used Tokentool to make several new tokens. It's extremely, extremely easy. Nothing to post, sorry, since I used copyrighted art from the internet. But if you want to create your own tokens, it's extremely simple with this program. It cuts out manually having to crop out the circle, resize, etc.

Sounds pretty cool, I'll check that out

Sorry for the Thread Necromancy but does anyone still have those tokens lying about…I am planning on running this with my sons and three of their friends and would like to have them.

Thanks in advance!

Ronin

Agreed I just picked up the Beginners Box and was surprised that they dont have printable tokens to go with the 'bonus' characters. Hopefully someone can get these reposted and when the full game gets released maybe Fantasy Flight can release some actual tokens for them.
