Defending with the new legends

By Virgo, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

New Eternal War Legends have 2 power in the battlefield and 1 in kingdom/quest. They are attacked through Battlefield.

Also, it is important to note that a defending legend contributes the power it has (as damage) in the zone to the battle.

A Legend’s power is considered to be equal to the number of power icons it has in its weakest zone

Do they contribute 2 power or 1?

My guess is 2, since they are defending in the battlefield zone. I always interpreted that second statement you wrote as being important for cards that might say "Deal damage to a legend equal to its power", which would be one damage since there is no zone conditional.

Mallumo, Entropy…? :P

looks like FAQ wording error I am sure that PRINTED 2 hammers in battlefield means:

TWO HAMMERS IN BATTLEFIELD ;-)

HappyDD is right. Its just telling you what to do if a card needs to know a Legend's power. It doesn't override the original rules for assigning damage in combat. They just needed to establish a way of deciding what their power was for cards that check power, since they are covered in Power icons. For example, if you flipped a Legend up with a card that said "Reveal the top card of your deck and gain resources equal to its power." I believe there are already Orc cards that have similar mechanics.

I taught so, however putting that in FAQ where defending with legends is covered can be quite misleading. Also AFAIK the only card that uses this wording at the moments are Mushroom Hunters ;)

You're right it's not a great wording. I'll try to poke Lukas about it for the next FAQ. Also, glad to hear I was remembering a card that exists and not a playtest card.
