Suggestions for Well Rounded 2 Player Decks?

Hi Folks,

I've had a lot less play time lately, but I'm starting to have success introducing the game to some friends. Hence, I'm looking for ideas for 2 decks that are in and of themselves a lot of fun to play and also play well together. At this point, I have everything up until The Hobbit release (Christmas can't come soon enough).

I've recently had a successful dwarf deck (Dain, Bifur, Thalin) and elf deck (Glorfindel - Spirit, Elrond, Legolas) running. Enjoyed those, but would like to mix it up.

I'd kind of love to do something with Aragorn (Lore) + Sword that was Broken (have yet to use that combo in a deck), but I'm open to all sorts of ideas.

Any solid 2 player success stories out there?

Make two dwarf decks, you have both heroes and cards for it

Well, here is what I've been using with my wife. I'm not a min-maxer of any sort, so this will look like a bit of a grab bag, but the basic idea is lore+leadership dwarf-ish deck, and tactics+spirit eagles deck with some dwarves to take advantage of Dain in the other player's deck. We have Core, all SoM, Khadaz-dum, and Dwarrowdelf APs up throgh TLD. We tweak the deck for each quest we play, but here's the general rundown:

Green/purple has been using Bilbo, Aragorn (Lore), and Dain pretty consistently. Sometimes we switch Bilbo out for Bifur, but we feel the loss of his passive draw ability. That deck handles healing, quests better once it's built up, and card draw.
Red/blue uses more variable heroes, but good candidates are: Gimli for defense, or a good quester thanks to Dain. Attacks when necessary, but typically not the main attacker. Legolas for combat, greater for taking out those 2-token locations. Eowyn for questing, or if Gimli will be questing, Eleanor or Dwalin (depending on the quest). We've used Brand a little bit for combat as well; combos well with Gleowine on the other end of the table. This deck is better at getting early-turn fighters/defenders on the table, but is weak with regards to native card draw, resource management. Getting Radagast on the table early helps a lot, but depends on luck of the draw.

Thanks GS! Appreciate the post! I'm going to have to try these out.

In the mean time, I did receive The Hobbit OHaUH for Christmas, so now I can also play around with 2 decent dwarf deck ideas.
