I've wanted to build this alex for some time, but I've never gotten round to doing it properly. Looking at the symbols on the latest version of Alex, I can see that there's a lot of potential with a water hybrid, except there's no defense against olcadans in all and fire and water don't share much. Anyway, if I had to build him it would be aggro and if it was aggro it would be mono symbol, so here it is;
Characters; 1
1x ::Alex:: (All/Fire/Water) 6HS, 29V
Attacks; 12
4x Boomerang Raid (All/Fire/Water)
4x Melancholic Mercurius (Fire)
4x Chop (All/Fire/Water)
Foundations; 38
4x Makai High Noble (Fire)
4x Transference (Fire)
4x Empire's Ruin (Fire/Water)
4x White Magic (Fire)
3x Healer (Fire)
4x Manifest Destiny (Fire)
3x Evil Plans (Fire)
3x Amy's Assistance (Fire)
4x Raw Talent (All/Fire/Water)
3x Bitter Rivals (All/Fire)
2x Silver Spoon (All/Fire)
Assets; 9
3x Olcadan's Mentoring (Infinity)
4x Times Square (All/Fire/Water)
2x Ready for Anything (All/Fire)
Total; 60 Cards
The kill here is a combo kill; generate face down cards with Melancholic Mercurius and Chop, make attacks easier with Times Square and heavier with Alex's Response, discard face downs with Raw Talent and then kill with Boomerang Raid. Bitter Rivals, Ready for Anything and Empire's Ruin help my attacks connect; Silver Spoon, White Magic and Healer keep me alive against other aggro decks; Makai High Noble, Olcadan's Mentoring, Amy's Assistance, Manifest Destiny and Evil plans slow down control decks (and I can combo that last one into Transference for extra damage).
One problem with this deck is the amount of 4 checks, but this is mostly countered by Times Square and the very nice difficulty curve. Another thing is the 6 hand size and no draw power, which makes me slower than other aggro decks, and makes me vunerable to discard decks; I can side into Promo Alex, but that makes the kill weaker without his E and his R.
Anyway, that's the deck. Please give any advice or criticism you can, no matter how small, it really does help. Thanks!
