Auxiliary Firing Arc

By Nazull, in X-Wing Rules Questions

on the Slave 1 ship under Auxiliary Airing Arc it says

When attcking with its primary weapon,
a ship with this icon may attack an enemy
ship that is withing Rang 1-3 and inside
its standard or Auxiliary firing arc.

When attacking with a secondary weapon, the ship must still target and enemy ship inside its standard firing arc (Unless otherwise specified on the upgrade card)

My Question is why have this in the wave 2 ship Slave 1 when there is no card with this option on that i can see.

The Firespray may use its primary weapon to attack targets in its primary (front) or auxiliary (rear) arc. That's why the rule for auxiliary arc is on the rule sheet for the Firespray.

Sorry my question was not put right.

When attacking with a secondary weapon, the ship must still target and enemy ship inside its standard firing arc (Unless otherwise specified on the upgrade card)

So as both the Ion and Heavy Laser Cannon are Secondary weapons that "dont" say on there cards that they can be used to fire in the rear arc, why is this last bit in the book, as there is no Secondary weapons in the game yet that say "can fire back wards

I am just confirming that iv not mised anything.

Sorry, I didn't understand the question properly then. My guess would be that it's just pre-emptive explanation for the future so that they can add a secondary weapon that could use an auxiliary arc without needing to redo the rule sheet in the Firespray pack.

Jim

Mines and bombs go out of the rear arc as stated on their cards. Other secondary weapons only fire forward as per the usual rules.

I have to agree with Emrico that this is a pre-emptive explanation. I have seen those before in some other games. FFG probably has a secondary weapon that uses the auxilary firing arc of the Firespray and I would like to assume that they might have one that would use the 306 arc of the YT. Time will tell with those though.

The Ion Cannon Turret, for the Y-Wing, is a secondary weapon that states on the card: Attack one ship (even one outside of your firing arc).

I am sure that unless otherwise stated, a secondary weapon fires out the front arc.

the "fluff" reasoning for the Heavy laser cannon and Ion cannon not being able to fire out the rear arc, is that they are mounted in hidden compartments alongside the "nose " of the Slave 1, and not on the pivoting mounts at the bottom of the "nose".
