sorry about that, my post above was to Duraham
Post your Kessel Run results here (especially if you won)

When it comes to asteroid placing, I always place my asteroids touching another asteroid, in such a way that it is treated as 1 big chunk and would leave me many open spaces.
So, reading through your battle reports, it doesn't sound like you actually did this in any of the games, however according to the tournament rules: An asteroid token cannot be placed within Range 1-2 of any edge of the play area or within Range 1 of another asteroid token.
due to my opponent placing his asteroids as well, there are bound to be gaps between the asteroids, some i intentionally left there in case i needed an escape route too. Anyway, the TO allowed the asteroids to touch, so we went with that.
as for the whole integrity thingy, i could iron out the whole long grandmother story about the circumstance behind me agreeing to it, but long story short, the only way i wouldn't get into top 2 placing was if i get totally wiped due to the amount of points i have racked up from the first two games (i was the only player who managed a complete wipe of the other side's forces, and in the event of a draw, my total destroyed points is higher than everybody else's already at that point), you wouldn't believe my story anyway, and you can go play and have fun with your integrity while i have fun with my physical product. sides, you'd really think i'd risk my chance of getting 1st if he was a random stranger when i could utterly destroy him, which i've proven on the table? agreeing to the deal was entirely in his favour actually, i gained nothing from it.
im sorry, if it's a for namesake and bragging rights, i'd play fairly, but when there's this kinda prize on the line, no. i had my integrity once, it wasn't fun.
Well, actually what you gained was a guarentee. As you said yourself, you could have missed top 4 if you were totally wiped out. Also, even a win to you would potentially have changed the top 4 positions, and therefore who you played in the final (quite possibly making a difference to the prize you could have one)
I agree with the others, it was VERY unsportsmanlike and unethical. It is, by it's very definition, cheating, and you should have been disqualified from the tournament on the spot.
alright folks lets quit bashing Durham now. He did wrong at the tournement, he was told and shown how. We all aggree it was manipulation of the system. He will either continue to beleive hes right and the escalation of whose right will rise, or he will see the chosen path and feel like a fool for making a mistake and posting it (which Ive done many times, and I know we have all have made mistakes) either way Durham will not feel like a welcome member of this community and will leave it. So my point is this, lets not hold this over Durham, I reconize his name from posting in the past, and wether or not I aggree with his posts, I do enjoy reading them.
Well I played in 2 this weekend.
I ran 4xwings, wedge with swarm, Garven (added the R2 for the 2nd KRT), and 2x rookie.
Saturday night. Fredricksburg VA
first round I played an out of towner, he ran 6 ties, Howelrunner, dark curse and one othe named pilot with 3 acad I believe. This one was close , he got a full win by killing all my ships, he had 3 ships left I think.
2nd rd. I played a 2x1y. Luke, Dutch and Biggs. Was not close, I killed bigs within 3 rds and got a few lucky rolls on Dutch, then Luke. Full win for me.
3rd rd. he ran a tie swarm. Not gonna say much in this, I was destroyed fast. He rolled very good, and there is no defense for that.
All in all I finished 1-2, 5pts, low end of the 12 people. The winners didn't play the last round because it was late.
2nd KRT Sunday Chantilly VA
Same squad just with Garven with the R2 unit.
1st round. Played a 3 ywing build, have not played to much so didn't prepare. It was very close, he killed Garven, and had wedge on last hill. Rookies were hit, but not bad. Killed all his ships, full win.
2nd Rd played I tie swarm I believe with Howelrunner and some odd named and unnamed, total of 6 ships, with Vader. Started bad with Garven dead within 2 rds and wedge hurt bad. We traded a few more shot in rds 3-4 with most of his ties going down and wedge with one hull left. Game ended once he had Vader and one tie, I cleaned up with the rookies. Full win.
3rd round. I played a 2x1y Luke, wedge and Dutch I believe. By rd 3 both wedges were dead. I then focused on Dutch, because Luke is tiresome to kill lol. Dutch wwas taken oout and Luke shortly after. Full win, won 1st pick of ships.
Final, because of ties breakers and wins, I rematched with the opponent I just beat in rd 3. I picked Falcon, he got the Firespray. I started out well, loving the a wings green 5+ boost. He focused on the falcon, I focused on Tie int. he hurt the falcon fAst. I took out I tie and started focusing on the firespray. I had some good rolls and finished his firespray and tie. I finished with full a wings and a falcon with one hull left.
In the 2 KRT I finished with a 5-2 record winning a falcon. In a turn of events my opponent picked a A Wing over the Firespray, 3rd place, who had never played and had a sqaud built for him won a Firespray, so that was good to see.
You guys all beat me to the Duraham thing, so I'll go ahead and skip it beyond saying that I hope he will rethink cheating in the future.
Played in my local Kessel Run at The Ludus Machine in South Bend, Indiana yesterday. My list:
Wedge + R2 Astromech
Dutch + Ion Cannon
Rookie Pilot
Rookie Pilot
My first game, played another 4 ship rebel build (against the guy who basically dominated the tournament), lost Wedge in the first exchange, and was pretty quickly wiped out.
After that, played several games against rebels (almost everyone brought rebels! Should have brought my Imperials instead!) and won them all, thanks to the devastating combo of Wedge + Dutch. Placed second to my first opponent, and being a true sportsman, he conceded the finals and the first pick of prizes to me in order to let the third place player get a chance at playing with the new ships.
I picked the rebel squad in the final. The keys to my victory, in the end, were the Falcon's awesome resiliance and staying out of the Slave I's firing arcs (which I was able to for a good part of the game due to good flying). I will say that I love Arvel's ability, that homing missiles dissapointed me, though I think they could be really good, that boosting is friggin sweet, and that Fel + Stealth is a gigantic pain in the butt.
In the end, I had so much fun, and I thought the 1st ranked guy was so cool about the whole thing, that I offered to let him have first pick of ships and to share the title of tournament champion. So he picked the Falcon, and I the Slave I. All in all, the whole thing was awesome.

Sounds like you have a great gaming group there. Congrats on winning your prize. You sir are a gentleman.
I was lucky enough to get to play in two events this weekend (but, I had to drive about 2 hours north for one, and 2 hours south for the other… well worth it though).
I played a seven TIE swarm at both events: Howlrunner, Dark Curse, Night Beast, and Academy Pilot X4. I was the only one with seven ships at either event. We had 14 players on Saturday (6 rebels, 8 imperials), and 9 players on Sunday (I believe the mix was 5 rebels, 4 imperials, but it could have been the other way around).
On Saturday I played at Amazing Discoveries in Tucson, AZ (a great FLGS, and one of the friendlies groups of people I could have hoped to play with). I went 2-1 but had the toughest SOS so ended up in second place and the finals (and played the only guy who went undefeated). I played 2 imperial squads and 1 rebel squad (lost to the last imperial Squad). I had Slave 1, and won pretty handily (I relentlessly attacked the Falcon and killed it fairly quickly, and then took out his A-Wings without a single casualty). I took the Slave 1 as the prize since that is what I played with. The top 2 in this event were both Imperials.
On Sunday I played at Game On Arizona in Prescott, AZ (another great FLGS, and one of the best run events I’ve ever attended). I went 2-1 (lost the 1 by 3 points, but it was a great game and I think my opponent who was the only person to go undefeated definitely earned the narrow win). I played 2 imperial squads and 1 rebel squad (lost to the rebel squad). I ended up 3 rd and took the TIE Interceptor. 3 of the top 4 in this event were Rebels (and the top 2 were rebels).
An amazing time was had by all. Both stores raffled off the extra ships to those who did not end up in the top 4 rather than keeping them for themselves. Everyone was very happy about this and I think it speaks volumes about the generosity and honor and integrity of both places.
Here is a pic of the final game on Saturday (I'm the guy wearing the Call of Duty t-shirt):
And, here is a shot from my last game on Sunday (the guy din't expect my tight formationor my left bank to put 5 guys in line of sight to his Vader at …T Two at Range 1 of Vader, and all at Range 1 of Howlrunner… I took Vader out early, but it took a while to get the rest of his squad since we needed to do a lot of u-turns after that).

Went 3-0 yesterday with the following list:
Garvin - R2 Astromech
Dutch - Ion Cannon and R5 Astromech
Rookie - R2 Astromech
Rookie - R2 Astromech
In the finals, I piloted the Rebel and it was a knock-down, drag-out fight. The last turn was down to both big ships, each having only one hull point left. The dice decided that I would come in second. Good fight and good games.
Played our Kessel run at Guardian Games, Portland OR. We expected a decent turnout, but only 4 showed. We can only assume that this potentially due to heavy rain, the fact that a lot of people played in the previous day's tournament across in Vancouver, and two other KRTs being held around the area at the same time that day.
With only 4 players, there was only a single round
My List:
Luke
Horton w/ Ion
2x Rookie Pilots
The other lists were:
List 1:
Storm Pilot (Adv Tie)
6x Academy Pilots
List 2:
Wedge+R2-F2+Marksmanship
Luke+ ?
Dutch + R2-D2 + Ion
(and some upgrades)
List 3:
Wedge + ?
Biggs + ?
Dutch + ion + ?
My battle was against List 2. I won't go into a session report, but suffice to say that I concentrated firepower on Wedge and took him out early. Return fire, I lost shields on both rookies and Luke. I managed to get behind Luke and keep him ion'ed. I completely ignored Dutch until the end of the game. I took out his Luke, but screwed up my own Luke's movement, turning left instead of right. Unfortunately, that took me into an asteroid where I promptly got ion'd by Dutch. Of course, the two turns I was in the asteroid, I rolled hits both times and took 2 damage. It was down to one of my rookies and Horton against Dutch, whom I kept ion'd. Eventually I killed Dutch, although one more turn would have forced Dutch to move off the table (due to being ion'd).
On the other table, neither side was rolling well, and in the end the Rebel player managed a modified win due to time. He was able to kill two TIEs, and the imperial player had Biggs without shields and just a single hull … the poor TIE rolling just couldn't finish him off. Looking at the table, the TIEs would likely have kill Biggs the following turn (it was surprising that he didn't die the 'final' turn). The Imperial player was having some difficulty maneuvering his TIEs, and did keep running them into each other (and the rebels).
The final battle I played the Rebels and used the "Aluminium Falcon". A first pass saw the generic Interceptor dead (The Falcon scoring 4 hits at Range 1, with the Interceptor rolling only a single evade). Homing missles from my generic A-wing took out 2 of the shields of the Firespray. From there, A-wings were chasing and crashing into the Firespray and Interceptor. Both of us has difficulty maneuvering the large base ships, running them into asteroids or our own ships. Unfortunately, my opponent also couldn't seem to outmaneuver me, and only once did the Firespray have any targets in either of his fire arcs and within range, so it only shot once during the entire match. Focused fire on the Firespray took it down to half hull, but he maneuvered too close to the table edge. He tried a 3 K-turn, but misjudged the distance and half the base ended up off the table, losing the Firespray. After that, still with all three ships, the end was a foregone conclusion and it didn't take long to kill the named Interceptor. I had lost both shields on both A-Wings, and taken a damage on the generic A-wing (I think). The Falcon lost 1 shield.
It was a difficult choice, but I selected the YT. My friend was using my Imperials (List 1), and came in third (beating list #2) and selected an Interceptor, which he gave to me since he doesn't have his own ships. Very nice of him, and I told him if he ever gets his own ships he can take it back since he won it. It was a fun time, and very enjoyable. All four of us were pretty new to the game, with me being the most "experienced", having played about a total of 5 games, only one with the list that I ended up taking.
In Peoria Illinois… 10 players (8 Rebel 2 Imperials) Started at noonish and finished a little after 6P.M.
Took 3rd in a tourney yesterday in Knightdale NC. Went into the 3rd round 2-0, but misjudged a maneuver so badly on the 3rd turn that it cost me the game. Still, I placed 3rd in two tournaments so I managed to take home an Interceptor and an A-wing, so I'm happy. Not like I wasn't going to buy all the big ships anyway, right?
My second round yesterday was quite possibly the fastest game ever played, however. I was playing Wedge with 3 rookies, against a Luke/Wedge/Biggs squad, for a 7 X-wing pile up. He had torps on all of them, so I went slow my first turn, as he pulled soft 3s and started veering towards me. In the second round, I gunned it full speed at him, hoping to close the gap into range 1 to make the torps worthless and possibly force him to hit me. He pulled some hard and soft 2s, and we pretty much ended up with all our ships at range 1 pointing at each other. His Wedge severely damaged mine, my Wedge damaged his Biggs, Luke took out my Wedge, Rookie 1 took out Biggs and, incredibly, Rookie two rolled 3 hits and a crit on Luke, with luke rolling blanks for defence, then he dealt himself the 2 damage crit card, taking Luke out in one shot. Rookie 3 had no one in his arc, so the turn ended. On turn three, we all pulled K-turns and ended up pointing at each other at range 2. His Wedge damaged one of my rookies, but my 3 rookies all firing at him took him down.
Including set up, the whole thing was over in less than 15 minutes. We both laghued about it, because literally every single damage die we both rolled came up hits, and all our defense dice failed. The problem was, after that, my attack dice were so hot that in the third round, each time I bumped an asteroid I ended up damaging myself…

Thanks, I just made that up on Saturday… necessity is the mother of invention. It worked very well and many other people started doing it, too.

Yeah, great group of guys here. Hopefully we can get even more people in the area interested. And honestly, that guy would have thrashed me in the finals, anyway, with how well he was playing (and how hot his friggin' dice were!). All in all, some of the most fun I've had playing games in a long time.

I love that for the TIE's
Was actually able to play in two Kessel Run Tournaments with my gaming group (we have been dubbed "The Winged Gundark" group "Cacaw!").
My first list did not go well, the force was weak with me that day. List as follows:
Wedge Antilles
-R5 Astromech
-Swarm Tactics
-Proton Torpedo
Biggs Darklighter
-R2F2
Dutch Vander
-R5K6
-Ion Cannon
-Proton Torpedo
My mind was in a bit of a fog as I had the cold so I was making bad decision after bad decision. At one point, I Dagoba'd (what our group calls accidentally, or purposefully, leaving the map with a ship) an untouched Y-Wing with an unused Proton Torpedo. Luckily, the rest of my group did well, winning The Firespray and an A-wing (which was given to me since I was the one in the group who wanted A-Wings).
Next day, I was at 95%. My cold was gone, but my voice was gone with it. But, my mind was at full capacity. I decided that the torpedos were a little lackluster for their points, so I opted for survivability on my powerhouse (wedge) instead. Boy, did it pay off!
Wedge Antilles
-R2D2
-Expert Handling
Biggs Darklighter
-R2F2
Dutch Vander
-R5K6
-Ion Cannon
-Proton Torpedo
My choice was exactly what I needed. I went 4-0 (4th win being with Lando, Arven, and Green Squadron Pilot). Expert Handling and R2D2 decided my second match. I ended up with Wedge vs. Backstabber, Dark Curse, and Mauler Mithal. No damage on Wedge and one damage on Mauler and a Direct Hit on Backstabber. I was able to get wedge right in Mauler's face and blew him out of the sky. Next Turn, I took out Dark Curse in a single turn with some nice rolling, but it put Backstabber behind me. He took out my shield and put a crit on me (the one that adds a stress token and then turns facedown). I was able to green maneuver to regain a shield and then barrel roll out of Backstabber's firing arc. Next turn, I was able to green maneuver to regain my second shield. Then I moved and barrel rolled behind an asteroid to get an extra defense die losing only a single shield. Then I was able to get him in my sights and give him the last damage for the win. Wedge with R2D2 and Expert Handling is a force to be reckoned with!
The Winged Gundarks took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for a total take of 1 Millenium Falcon, 2 Firesprays and 2 A-Wings for the weekend. All four of us got what we wanted since we just traded with each other to get it. So, I got my two A-Wings (for a future total of 4 since I pre-ordered two already).

Wedge - R2 Astromech, Determination, PT
Horton - R5 Astromech, PT, Ion Cannon
Rookie Pilot - R2-D2, PT ( The surprise champian of my list )
I was 3-0 with this list, then I played the Rebels with the Falcon and A-Wings for the top spot. The final battle was very lopsided due to some extreme rolls. My opponent Brian couldn't roll an evade, and it seemed like all I rolled was strikes. Would love to play him again and see how things go. It was a great event, and everyone there was very nice and fun to play against.
I did roll really bad in that final. Too bad, as it really prevented the game from being very interesting. I did my best, but it's hard to overcome rolling 0 evades in my first 21 agility rolls! I'm not complaining though, it was a fun day and I'm happy to have a Slave 1. I actually won the Falcon at another tourney the next day.
I too played Rebels, here's my list:
Wedge - r2, Expert Handling
Biggs - R2-D2
Horton - R5, Ion Turret, 2x Torpedoes
Horton was the all star. His ability makes him ridiculously reliable at damage output. In my games he is the best Rebel Pilot.
I worked up a squad for each side and then my buddy and I ran thru 3 matches to see how they performed against each other. I played better with the darkside but found Vader to be lack luster for the points. Swapped him out for 2 more Tie's and had my team. That made half a dozen games under my belt.
Was a little suprised reading this thread not to see a similar list.
Howl + swarm
Black + swarm
Black + swarm
AP
Mauler + swarm
Backstabber
Ran them as a brick 3 wide 2 deep, Blacks and the AP up front with the names in the back, Howl in the middle.
Played @ Jesters Cap in Lancaster NY on Sat. 6 players, 3 of each faction, ran 1pm-5pm, 3 - 60 min prelim rounds
1st round : Full Win vs Luke + R2F2, Wedge + PT + Determination and Horton + R5 + PT + Ion
2nd round : Loss vs another 6 Tie Imp list. I made an error early which he capitalized on and it was down hill fast.
3rd round : Full Win vs another 2X1Y Rebel list. Purely weight of fire w/ rerolls and 2/3rds of it at pilot skill 8
I was 2-1, tied for 2nd, but he had the better SoS. I picked the Tie-Int. Didn't actually get to see the big ships out of
the box though as 1st and 2nd had to leave (father & son). The FLGS raffled off their 2 fighters and I lucked out with
an A-wing as well.
Played @ Phoenix Rising in St.Catharines, ON on Sun. 5 players after 2 others showed then decided not to
participate. 3 Imp / 2 Rebel, ran 1pm-4:30pm
1st round : dice off gave me the bye and a Full Win
2nd round : Full Win vs Vader, Howl, Backstabber, a Tie and a Tie-Adv IIRC. This was a total furball with ships
bumping and bellypans scrapeing over asteroids. Came down to the wire but was able to eliminate
Vader, his last ship, in the final turn when time was called (1hr).
Finals : Went in in 2nd, he was Rebel and elected to play with the Falcon. I assembled and placed the Firespray
and realized just how massive that base is. Game went to time (1hr) We did a lot of fancy maneuvering.
The Falcon hip-checked several asteroids. I pop'd the green A-wing, he pop'd the no-name Interceptor.
The Baron and Arvel were both down to 1 hull when 1 minute was called. He managed to tag the Baron
in that final turn for a modified win and chose to hang on to the Falcon. I'm quite happy with my Firespray.
The TO gave one of the extra fighters to the 5th player so everyone ended up with something.
On a side note I am amazed but not suprised by the number of people who have tossed their Falcons/Firesprays up on eBay for a quick cashout.
Cheers
I placed 2nd at the Kessel Run even at Games Plus in Mount Prospect, IL. We had 16 players with a slightly stronger leaning toward Rebel forces. I had a great time and everyone I played was friendly, courteous and some great competition.
I ended up 3-0 (1 modified win, 2 Full win) with this list:
- Wedge + Swarm Tactics
- Garven
- Rookie Pilot
- Rookie Pilot
I played other Rebel players for all 3 of my games. I flew in a block formation with the Rookie's in front and Garven and Wedge in the back. I used Swarm on Garven, shot first and passed the focus to Wedge to give him Target Lock + Focus for all of his shots.
My memory might not be the best as far as the oppositions lists goes but I'll give it a try anyway.
First game was against a similar list but had Wedge + Swarm with some Red Squadron Pilots (not remembering all that well). This is the game that went to time. I made some really bad maneuvers straight away and ending up hitting a asteroid or two. The dice were on my side though and I was able to recover in time to get some choice shots. I ended up destroying 30 more points than my opponent and walked away with the modified win.
My second game was against another Rebel list, this time with Garven, Dutch, Biggs and a Rookie. I was able to get into position early for some focus fire at Range 3 on Biggs and take him out first round. My opponent returned fire and took out a Rookie. Next turn Wedge got his shields taken out and a critical hit got through - Direct Hit of course. So he had 1 Hull left. Miraculously he survived the next shot from Dutch's Ion Cannon and was able to finish my opponent's Garven. My dice continued to be hot and I scored some really solid hits from Range 3 to finish the match.
Match Three was a great game. Another Rebel List: Garven, Dutch, Rookie x2. My opponent did some great manuevering and we were trading shots all game. It came down to my Garven and his Dutch with about 5 minutes to go. I scored a critical hit that took his Agility to 0 and next turn was able to get behind him to finish him off before time. This was probably the most nerveracking game of the night. There were some tense rounds of manuevering and it really went down to the wire.
I made it to the Final Table against our undefeated (3 Full Wins) Imperial Player. So he fielded Slave-1 and I took Falcon. I proceeded to get stomped
.
All in all, I had a great time and the tournament ran really smooth.
I really did want to go it's just Christmas shopping got in the way, I'm glad to see that you got slave 1 hopefully I'll see it in the flesh soon.
Just got home a little while ago from the final Kessel Run in our area. Fair Game in Downers Grove, IL. 10 players showed up with exactly 5 rebels and 5 Imperials, so of course the random setup the first round had 4 mirror matches. I ended up going 3-0 with two modified wins and got second place going into the final.
My team was
Darth Vader + Swarm Tactics + Concussion Missiles
Black Squadron + Swarm Tactics
Acadamy Pilot x 4
99 points
I have now used this team in 3 tournaments and have never lost a game. It is a perfect 10-0 with only 3 modified wins. It is build to be played in a tight formation and to give an early 3-ship alpha strike that typically takes out one ship plus damages a second one. After that it is typically to big of a lead to overcome. Well, that's how it should happen and did happen for my first two tournaments. Tonight my dice decided to give me a major uphill battle. In two straight games I had Vaders missile and 5 other attackers that did a grand total of 1 hit to my opponent. The odds were amazingly long for that to happen. Luckily I was able to claw back to my two modified wins in both rounds.
First round was a 6 TIE team with all the named TIE pilots. Well played team, but my opponent had some issues with manuvering and I was able to pick off a few TIES before he could bring Howlrunner into the fray for rerolls.
Second round was Wedge w/ Determination, Biggs w/ R2-F2, Rookie x2. Third round was against Wedge w/ Marksmanship + R2, Luke w/ R2-D2+ Marksmanship, and Dutch with Ion cannon. Both of these two rounds were the ones where my opening attacks were all but useless and I was luckly to claw out of my original holes after loosing 1-2 TIEs in the first volley.
It was late and the top winner was surprised when I told him I got the Falcon already and wanted to take the Slave 1 home, so he asked if I even wanted to play or if it was okay to just take the ships we wanted. I was 100% fine with this. So in two Kessel Runs I came home with each of the big ships!
Edit: Forgot to mention that Imperial ended up 3 of the top 4 at the store.
Other then ebay has anyone seen or is anyone selling any of the exapansions. PM me. Please.

i was the only rebel squad to get a ship, and ended up in 3rd place. My training buddy was first place, which surprised both of us because he actually likes rebels more.
Played you in the second round, and Wedge had R2 instead of Determination. My main mistake was making Biggs split up into asteroids, and all the ties followed him. Especially without R2-F2 up, that hurt. The only reason I even tried fighting at the end was because I knew that you'd be facing Matt (1st place) and assumed you would have beat him.
Third round was me learning from your match and concentrating all the x-wings on Vader and 2 academy pilots, and they went down pretty quick. He had his forces split up, so his named ties weren't even in the picture until Vader had no shields and no escorts.
Glad we all wanted different ships, and didn't have to get home any later than we already did (11:30 on a weekday, getting up at 5 next morning!). I took an interceptor because they wernt in preorder, so it'll be interesting with that against the falcon that Matt won.

It was great to meet you at the event. I was very impressed by the way you played and you as a gamer. Of all the teams there I was most worried about your as it was the rock to my scissors. I got very lucky in pulling it out on points.
Also, let your friend that didn't play that I wasn't that upset with him. I know that as an observer it is hard not to comment on games, but when I saw him talking to you during our game then pointing out the best strategy to attack me to your other friend I thought he crossed a line. When I find myself in his spot I too have a hard time not doing exactly what he did, so I understand. You want to see friends do well. No worries.
Too bad there wasn't more time left. If we played the final I had already told Eric that I would have stepped aside and let the 3rd place player play in my stead as long as I could get the Slave 1. I already had the experience of playing in the final at my Saturday event when I won a Falcon and I figured it was better to get more people the experience with the new ships.

I'm surprised more people didn't run a 4-ship build myself. More dice is more dice, and it worked out well in practice.
me and Matt are going to recreate the final ourselves this weekend, and hopefully get to go back to Fair Game and pick up some foam and the 2 cards they forgot to put in the interceptor pack. No bigge, since it was late and I didn't even see it until I got home :/
