Thought I'd get in on this whole deckbuilding thing.
Affiliation: Rebel Alliance=http:>
10 Objectives
2 The Defense of Yavin 4
1 Mission Briefing
2 The Rebel Fleet
2 Draw Their Fire
2 Mobilize the Squadrons
1 Hit and Run
The idea here is that I wanted as hyper-aggressive a deck I could put together. Mobilize the Squadrons is the heart of the deck, providing me everything I want - cheap units, the ability to end the game at 10 blast damage, Covering Fire, and the all-important Rebel Assault. While it doesn't have synergy with Trench Run from my understanding (the Death Star Dial isn't an objective and thus can't be targeted), Rebel Assault can snag objective kills out of nowhere and completely wreck the Dark Side's battle plans by eliminating all but the toughest units. It's so important that I even named the deck after it, and included The Defense of Yavin 4 just to get two more copies of it. With Mobilize the Squadrons locking me into Rebel Alliance affiliation, and The Defense of Yavin 4 encouraging a strong emphasis on Vehicle units, I decided I wanted to go all-in on Rebel objectives.
From there, Draw Their Fire offers more X-Wings, the very excellent Admiral Ackbar, and potential space battle superiority with the combination of X-Wing Escort and Heroic Sacrifice, so I knew I wanted two of those. Hit and Run I consider a staple in any deck that can afford to have a neutral objective, and especially in this deck where so much of my blast damage is edge-dependent. That left me with 3 objectives. I already knew I didn't want to splash Jedi or Smugglers & Spies objectives, so Rumors at the Cantina would be pointless. Tribal Support would be more suited to a more controlling deck than what I wanted. Decoy at Dantooine does the same, serving more of a purpose in mitigating damage, and while Fleeing the Empire had some tempting cards, it didn't actively help my agressive strategy either. That left some combination of Mission Briefing and The Rebel Fleet. Ultimately, knowing the tendency of aggressive decks to overextend, I decided to double up on the card draw of Mission Briefing, and a better chance to get Mon Motha and her Edge [1] ability into play.
Obviously, haven't gotten to play this yet, but just looking at the theory behind it, the biggest challenge seems to be in winning the edge, particularly against the Sith. The aggressive nature of the deck means it also doesn't play defense very well. But, any comments or critiques any of you have would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: I've decided to take the advice from this thread and swap a Mission Briefing for the second The Rebel Fleet. While the draw Mission Briefing gives is nice, Target of Opportunity and the Y-Wing (2 Blast Damage!) push the aggressive themes of the deck far better, and Home One is just brutal.
