Sigh I wonder why I bother with Amazon. I pre-ordered in October and now they are saying they've got no idea when they'll ship. I've done this for every release of DH. I think I've gotten one book total from them. Why does this always occur?
Amazon us
I'm in the same boat... I'd ordered CA from them at the same time as Dawn of War 2. Ended up cancelling the DoW2 preorder because I got a copy of it at Walmart on release day (which is the only store that sells games in the town that I live in) but I decided to keep the Creatures preorder because I had a $10 Amazon gift certificate. I sent them an e-mail last night complaining about it and how they seem to be absolutely horrible at preorders; their response was to knock off my shipping charge. Part of me wants to cancel and order elsewhere, but I know that no place that I order from is going to be able to give me the book for $15 (which is what my preorder is at now with the gift certificate and shipping discount.)
Le sigh. I guess I'll go without a little longer and see if Amazon can somehow manage to pull their head out of their rears enough to actually send me the book... since the other alternative is to pay over twice what I'd have to pay with them.
Are you talking about Amazon US or UK? I know that UK had issues, but thus far I've had no issues with Amazon US. Also, I can only find one listing for the book on Amazon US.

There were two listings on Amazon US around the same time everyone started talking about their problems with Amazon UK. I did a search just to reinforce my opinion of how shady Amazon really is.
Can you provide a link? My Jedi datamining powers are weak.
I really do feel bad for everyone that's had problems. I ordered the core rules and inquisitor's handbook together recently and I recieved both in under three days. I have just ordered DotDG and Creatures Anathema yesterday and they've already been shipped. Hopefully you guys have already sorted out all of the problems that they've been having. In which case, I thank you.

They've removed the listing that had the correct list price on it. They do however still list the book with the mistaken cover price. A mistake which is likely the root of all the problems since we know the book has already made it to most other vendors.
I notice that Amazon UK has a similar dodgy looking Haarlock Legacy Volume 1 pre-order listed.
In the past I would have pre-ordered this like a shot but now after my experience with CA I am not so sure.
After all these posts detailing problems with the biggest online book seller in the world I am surprised that no one from FFG has commented about supply issues to alleviate our concerns. Surely FFG must be worried about all this?

Were I working for a publishing company the last thing I'd probably do is discuss relations with a major supplier on the forums. Sounds like a recipe for problems. *shrug*
That being said I don't blame you for not ordering the next book. I'd just stash the loot and wait for it to show up in stock from a more reliable dealer.
Amazon has this issue where they will post the item months before it comes out with a price that is too good to be true. It's like they are trying to see how many people want it so they can order it. Then some time later closer to the actual publication, once they find out what it will actually cost them, they list a new item under the same or very similar name with the correct price so they actually make their money. Anyone who ordered the original item at the better price gets shafted and doesn't get their item. Anyone who ordered the higher priced item, gets it when it comes out. Then Amazon spins some tail about it being the first one being an error, listed wrong, sold out already with more coming in, haven't gotten it in yet, etc (yeah... I've had one of each of these, so I'm no stretching anything here or going by hearsay). I just realize not to order anything pre-order from them. Besides, I can usually find it on one of the good stores on ebay for the same price or better than what Amazon had it for. For example, I pre-ordered IH from Amazon. Didn't get it for I think it was 7 weeks after it was re-published by FFG. So I went to ebay and found a place that was selling it for a better price than Amazon had it for and got it three days after I ordered it. I imediately cancelled the Amazon order.
Moral of the story? NEVER pre-order ANYTHING from Amazon. Only order it after you know it is really out and after checking to see if it is really in stock and that you can't find it for a better price elsewhere.
I received the same notice, with them asking if I still wanted the product, since they were not sure when it was being released.
So I cancelled my order and went to another vendor. I really wish I could find another US online RPG shop that did pre-orders and shipped to FPO addresses.
