Descent is about party tactics; give her a Hero team of three, and some of the easier base quests, really.

In reality, the game already really strains to accommodate a party of 2 heroes, and it's rather difficult for the heroes when there are so few of them. I also recommend giving her 3 heroes, though if you really think that'll be a problem, you could have 2 heroes, let her play one, and you control the other hero. You probably won't be able to be really competitive playing both sides of the game, but it should work fine for a training game.

And there's really no need to include feats in her first game if you're worried about overcomplication. You can play with just the base game.

Wayne Miller created a series of fan-based quests, including one that was supposed to be a "training quest". I'll send it to you (it's a PDF file) if you provide me an email address, if you like.. For some reason I see that the web page containing those fan-based quests is no longer available..

Zargon,

I just sent you the series of six quests that Wayne had posted. I hope they don't take long to download. The first one is for "two or three players".

I am new to the game in General and would love to have those quests as well if possible. My email is [email protected]. Thanks

My active Descent group consists of two friends and me. One is playing the Overlord, and his buddy and I control each two Heroes. Although we strain the nerves of our Overlord by considering all tactical options and working together very closely he actually (this slows down game play sometimes a bit) he consideres us a great opposition in our active RtL campaign.

So I'd advice to let your gf control at least 3 heroes. Take simple ones, maybe one melee fighter, one ranged fighter and one magician and not a jack-of-all-trades type. So she can learn each single type of character and if she decides to stay onboard she might already have preference for a certain type of gaming style and hero type.

Have fun, you two :)

I'd like those too, if it's okay.
