In short since Gencon this year was an not fun for me at all, I decided to buy other games and skip worlds. My question is, was it worth it? (Please no posts about it was great to hang with the community, I know they are the best already).
It isn't always about the prizes and internet fame, but I was curious about what attendees got. Did all players get a cardboard box and alternate title cards and yet another play mat like at Gencon? Was there anything new or interesting we haven't seen before? How about the top players in joust/melee? I won a pin the size of a dime for 8+ hours of play a couple years back. I'm not trying to sound too bitter but its going on 3+ years of play mats, pins and alternate art house card/titles.
I know FFG is pretty good at listening to feedback, and while entertaining, the 2C&C podcast ragged on the prize support (imho rightfully) pretty hard. Did anything change? Or was it just another example of great game, better community your reward is hanging out with us?
